To the Price Chopper Store Manager:
Store 121
Sir,
I have been working for Price Chopper for the last 2 years. I believe that everyone in the store
knows that I arrive at work with a positive attitude and speak to employees and customers alike with
respect and dignity.
For the last couple of months working in the Deli has been very hostile in the kitchen area. There were
times that I went into the kitchen to prepare for work and Mary was yelling or angry at Amos. I don't
know why but I would proceed to wait on customers.
On August 8 I arrived at 10 o'clock and began helping customers. We serve breakfast from 7 to 11 and
at 5 minutes to 11 five customers came in asking for breakfast. He showed me his smart phone that
said 10:55. They ordered breakfast that amounted to about $30. I gave the order to the morning cook
and went into the kitchen area looking for my manager Scott. Mary got angry that she had to clean the
oven and said that breakfast was over. Scott came in, took the order and I believe prepared the
breakfasts. Scott told the cooks that we must put customer service first and told me that I hadn't done
anything wrong. When the 5 customers were finished, I went personally and apologized to them for the
misunderstanding because they heard all that happened. They asked for my managers name. I don't
know if they spoke with him.
Today I worked 11 to 7 and 4 of the same customers came in for lunch. We had barbecue ribs. I asked
Missy how many ribs came in the order for the $7.49 meal. I showed her the ribs and she said 2. I
prepared the meals. She came from behind the register, saw the ribs and said, in front of the customers
to only give them 1 rib. The customers reacted because this was the 2nd day that this happened to them.
They stated to her that at another Price Chopper they got 2 ribs so why did she change her mind. Also,
in front of the customers she said that I gave them 2 spoonfuls of food and was supposed to only give 1
and again they overheard this. The customers then said that they didn't mind paying extra. Sometimes
this same construction crew comes in ( 5 to 10) men at a time and spend from $30 to $100 a meal for
lunch.
The same day Mary yelled at me in a loud voice, in front of the customers, to put the entree in the line
and added ...since I wasn't doing anything but standing around. When she came back from the kitchen
I asked that she never speak to me that way in front of the customers because it is unprofessional. Then
she started yelling again in front of customers.
I would like to request if possible that she not behave this way to me during my shift. I love my job
and the customers deserve a welcoming and professional environment.
Respectfully,
Florentino Camacho Jr.
