Lean Engineering -Intern (24-Sep-2018 to 24-Mar-2019) Project: Lean Implementation in leading storage rack manufacturers in Bangalore 1) Continuous improvement activities
• 0.5 Cr/annum savings through increase in shelving beam in roll forming machine by reducing cutting time by automatic cutter. Reverse take back time is reduced by adjusting cutter height.
• 0.4 Cr / annum savings through increased beam production by reducing machine waiting time. Through work method improvement unloading activity is made parallel to machine auto activity
• 2.4 LPA savings through productivity improvement in paint booth using pressurized paint pot system
• 6.7 hrs man time reduction per month in material movement reduction for doors and covers using trolley design
2) Production planning implementation:
• 30% WIP reduction in between non-bottleneck machines through production planning and job scheduling based on bottle neck process
• Lead time reduction from 8 days to 3 days through batch size reduction 3) Lean line design
• Reduction of distance of sheet movement by 47% and components by 28% by optimizing process line layout
• Reduction in shortage of materials by component tracking method BOSCH Limited – Gangaikondan, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu Graduate Apprentice Trainee (IE) – 13-Sep-2017 to 12-Sep – 2018 Selected Contributions:
1) Changeover technical loss reduction in Emerging Marketing Module assembly line
• Reduction of changeover breakdown loss from 160 mins / month to less than 10 mins/month by redesigning of false proof continuity checking block into compact and robust design. 2) Ergo check V2 implementation:
• Implemented ergonomics confirmation in work systems and work methods in all VSMs by using ergonomics checklist.
3) End of Line upgradation in FSM value stream:
• Involved in supporting activities in upgradation of height vs resistance measurement using stepper motor with PLC circuits to servo motor with NI card measurement linked with Manufacturing execution system (MES).
4) Standardization of Indirect areas:
• Involved in supporting activities by time study for milk runner and implemented standardized work sequence thereby increase productivity.
5) Statistical Process Control
• Supported in calculation of process capability index and implementation of control charts to maintain process stability for critical parameters in all value streams. License & Certifications:
• C/MPS Ergonomics checklist – BOSCH Internal certificate
• Time data management - N62C – BOSCH Internal certificate Academic performance
• Graduated BE Mechanical Engineering in 2017 from Government College of Engineering, Tirunelveli with 7.6 CGPA out of 10.
• Completed Higher Secondary Examinations in 2013 from St. Thomas Matriculation Higher Secondary School with Maths and Biology as major subjects. Scored 91.08%
• Completed State Board Public Examinations in 2011 from St. Thomas Matriculation Higher Secondary School. Scored 90.4%.
Academic projects
1) Stress concentration factor analysis in pressure vessel (Linear and Nonlinear analysis)
• Linear analysis of pressure vessel and study about stress concentration factor by inelastic theory in ANSYS
• Non-linear and plastic analysis of stress concentration factor in pressure vessels and shells in ANSYS
2) Kinetic Energy Recovery System
• Conversion of thermal energy while mechanical braking from brake pads to kinetic energy using flywheel in bicycle
• Design of robust & compact items for the energy transmission using modified gears and sprockets
• Succeeded recovery of energy from transmission by 22.5% Curriculum vitae
