•Recruited in 1995 by a national company to open a new hospice office. I went to the chosen city with only a budget on paper and by the end of my tenure I had grown the office to 55 staff, an Average Daily Patient Census of 135-140, as well as a referral base of 150-200 physicians of all specialties within our service area. Our office was ranked approximately 5th among 39 offices across 15 states and consistently maintained annual budgets at or above projected targets.
•Responsible for all aspects of the clinical and administrative functions including the hiring of all staff, verifying competencies, monitoring performance and ongoing appraisals as well as providing and ensuring training in policies and procedures.
•Responsible to ensure the corporate policies and procedures were up to date as well as development of internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy, this included client satisfaction, as well as ensuring all staff were knowledgeable in Federal, State and Licensing Regulations.
•Chairman of the Quality Assurance committee. I have worked with and developed many forms and tools for the collection of data and statistics over the years. Frequently asked to share information, processes and forms which I had developed for use in my office with other company offices. Several of which were implemented company wide.
•Developed the annual multi-million dollar budget for the office. Monitored the Profit and Loss statements monthly and addressed issues as needed
•Head of the Marketing team. 50% of our patient population were residents in Nursing Homes, worked closely in and with the Nursing Home administration / staff and was well acquainted with their Standards and Regulations.
•Worked closely with the corporate I.T. department regarding training, and am computer literate particularly in Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as E-mail and the Internet.
