2018 Term Paper -Multi-objective material selection for wind turbine blade

The Objective of selection is finding the material which can provide extreme strength to mass ratio, a high degree of reliability, minimum carbon footprint and minimum embodied energy consumption

• Selection is based on Ashby’s method using CES selector We converted the problem to design translation then identified the constraints, objectives and free variables

Determined normalized material indices . Plotted material index chart and reached the feasible solutions

Refined the selection with weight factor approach and finalized the material
