One year of experience as Traffic Co-ordinator with Interpipe, Inc. where I scheduled all trucks to deliver pipe to customers and yards for Inventory, checked invoices for payment of freight, managed customs documents for load crossing the border.

My position, Plant Manager with Metcan Industrial Corp. enabled me to gain a good knowledge of the processes involved in a manufacturing business environment. I worked with many suppliers to ensure the manufacturing process at the plant ran smoothly and because we sourced from overseas, planning and ordering in time was necessary. I believe I would definitely add value with this knowledge to any administrative or managerial position.

My jobs as administrative assistants, office supervisor, and plant manager have allowed me the opportunity to be creative with my work and given me the ability to show initiative to look for more efficient ways to complete tasks. I have always been able to take on new work which enabled me to further develop my skill set. Over the past several years, I have held various positions within all companies requiring Team work, the latest being Plant Manager of Metcan Industrial Corp. In this position, being a team player was a must in order to accomplish our production goals. The result; the Plant was able to keep focused and attain on- time deliveries.

Analytical/Organizational/Time Management Skills

As the Traffic Co-ordinator of Interpipe, I must organize, analyze freight trucks, freight rates. It is a job with many disruptions so organization and time management skills are required. During my career at Arcelor Mittal Dofasco and Metcan Industrial Corp., I held various positions that required analytical skills. Errors were caught on over-shipments, price discrepancies, wrong customer billing and double billings. I have been heavily involved in monitoring expenditures and reporting to Management.

All of these positions allowed me to exercise my ability to observe and analyze detailed reports. I was responsible for organizing meetings, travel arrangements, luncheons and at the same time complete the necessary day to day work that had to be performed. My ability to organize and co- ordinate well, kept my job in good order and allowed for “emergency” or “rush” jobs to be completed in a very busy environment.

During my career at Metcan, I was responsible for processes and procedures to gain ISO Certification. The Stoney Creek plant obtained their certification in six months. The Manitoba plant gained their Certification in eight months. I played an integral role in the certification of both plants. Computer Knowledge

I have excellent working knowledge of MS Office programs; Word, Excel, Powerpoint, some Social Media and Quickbooks. I also have knowledge of Inventory Pro which is a tracking system of our inventory and shipments.

Arrange all trucking for both the Ontario and Quebec yards. Obtain freight rates. Provide customs documentation for trucks crossing the border. Work with the Steel mills to arrange freight to pull loads. Prepare all freight invoices for payment.

While at Dofasco, I volunteered on the Tennis Club Executive for eight years in the capacity of secretary and treasurer. I also held the title of President, Dofasco Aerobics Club for four years. I held the title of Task Force Leader for Fitness while serving on the Lifestyle Resource Committee. I was also the Co- ordinator of the noon-hour fitness program. I served on the Dofasco Skating Club Executive in the capacity of Secretary, Vice-President and President. I served on the Saltfleet Soccer Club’s Executive for 21 years in many capacities: Director, 1st Vice-President, President, and Treasurer. I also an active volunteer for Hamilton Challenger Baseball Association in which I hold the position of Vice-President.
