Education Project Summary

University of Guelph, Biomedical Engineering

2013 to 2018

• Engineering Courses: Biomedical Engineering Design IV, Robotic Systems, Heat and Mass Transfer, Biomechanical Engineering Design, Clinical Biomechanics, Bioinstrumentation Design, Biomaterials, Electrical Devices, Engineering Systems and Control Theory, Signal Processing, Engineering Economics, Comparative Mammalian Anatomy, Principles of Disease

• Biomechanical Engineer Design: Lead a team of 5 to redesign ergonomic and accessory components of a Tollos mobile medical lift. As the team coordinator, I was responsible for communicating and distributing information between 3 other groups to cohesively present one final redesign of the medical lift.

• Biomedical Engineer Design IV: Designed a device to aid those recovering from surgical anterior cruciate ligament repair. Device prototype was programmed using an Arduino and sensor data was processed in MATLAB. Obtained Research Ethics Board approval to test device on healthy individuals.

• Bioinstrumentation Design: Designed a small scale automated flower pot. Device prototype had the ability to direct users to control temperature, pH and soil moisture through smartphone app notifications.

• Engineering Design II: Created a 3D printed toy for a large Kinder egg. Kinder toy could be fully assembled and could shoot projectiles that traveled at least 2 meters. Cost analysis was completed to estimate the cost of mass producing the toy.

• Engineering Design I: Successfully built and programmed small “Meccano cart” with an Arduino to maneuver up and down a ramp without dropping its passenger. Work Experience
