Company Profile: SASSA is a national agency of the South African Government created in April 2005. SASSA was created to administer the application, approval and payment of social grants in South Africa. It was also designed to reallocate the function of social security from South Africa's provinces to the national sphere of government and reports to the Ministry of Social Development.

Responsibilities:

I handled incoming requests for funding; I reviewed grant applications using the SOCPEN system.

I submitted the budget details on how the grant would be utilized.

I obtained necessary supporting documents and clearances in order to get the grant approved.

I maintained and updated records on disbursement of funds and ensured all payment receipts were secured.

I coordinated with project managers to ensure compliance with grant guidelines and effect changes as required.

I educated project team members on the conditions of the grant.

I prepared administrative reports, detailing the incoming and finalised grants.

I compiled daily and monthly reports for the head office administration department.

I oversaw the proper governance procedures were followed, to ensure the quality of service grant applicants received were to standard, and to compile relevant reports.

I was responsible for all post, including franking and supervising couriering.

I created databases for reports.

I inputted client data.

I was responsible for incoming and outgoing calls, and taking messages.

I was responsible for office administration duties, such as faxing, filing and scanning.
