CHARITY – BABIES BEHIND BARS
Giving back is a huge part of who I am.
In 2007 I formed a charity called ‘Babies Behind Bars’ to assist mothers who birth their babies behind bars in South Africa. The charity is now operational in 17 prisons in the country and extends help to other facilities across the borders. The main aim is to help care for the children’s basic human needs while they live behind bars with their mothers till the age of 2. I qualified as a doula to impart this knowledge as a form of rehabilitation to mothers behind bars.
