Accomplishments
Designed, developed, tested a high impact project to convert our current server based report viewing system to a VSAM/DB2 based report viewing system. This entailed designing, developing Cobol Programs, installing, configuring, and implementing in over 26 Associations, 600 branches and over 3000 end-users, including the Farmer/Borrower, throughout the upper Midwest, resulting in a 99.9% availability rating.
Designed, developed, tested, and implemented a high impact series of automation processes, involving REXX, COBOL, and CLIST, allowing Operations to run unattended 24/7, eliminating the need for one FTE.
Initiated a project to automate the conversion of CA-Scheduler to Control-M products. Designed, developed, tested and implemented several REXX programs to compare forecasts from both scheduling tools, and force an abend if there were differences. Without the REXX programs, comparing the forecasted three thousand plus batch Jobs per day, from both scheduling tools, would have required hundreds of man hours to manually do the comparisons. compared to one minute, using the REXX programs.
Designed, developed, tested, and implemented a project to automate Agribank’s QA systems refresh process, making it more efficient, with fewer errors/abends due to data issues and/or human error, saving several hundred manhours it would have normally taken to manually enter the DB2 refresh parameters
Initiated a project to automate Agribanks change management system. When the project was completed, changes being promoted into Agribanks Model Office and production environments were modified accordingly. This includes JCL, PARMS, SPUPI’s, and Procedures.

Corrected batch related failures/abends, and escalated when necessary, to ensure SLA’s were being met
Ensured systems I was the SME on, were up and running, and met SLA’s the previous evening
Discussed batch related issues the previous night, with department heads, and Managers the following Business day
Chaired weekly meetings, to discuss changes being implemented into our Production environment. Discussed risks to SLA’s, if any. Determined what systems were affected and that the proper communication was sent to our customers.
Ensured all departments were represented during these meetings, in order to answer questions if necessary
During major QA/Model Office releases, ensured all departments, and users were onsite during implementation. This could take minutes, or hours to complete.
Maintained Main view Auto-Operator rules, to ensure there were no issues. When Operations was unattended, these rules had to function, or, and SLA’s could be missed, due to a batch failure not triggering an alert, preventing notification of the failure/abend. I was the application owner, and the SME on the escalation / notification process that was BMC’s Main view Auto-Operator.
Maintained View Direct for MVS, report viewing and long term retention system. I was the SME and Application owner of the View Direct for MVS, Document Direct, and Document Direct for the Internet system software. Agribank had six major releases per year. Each release was assigned to an Operations Analyst. He or she, was in control of each Model Office, from start to implementation.
Ensured daily wire transfers to the Federal Reserve, and other financial institutions occurred as per schedule. If there were issues with the data, the On call Operations Analyst. worked with the vendor to resolve any data issues.
Using TEST LPAR, and other environments, verified system upgrades for systems I was the SME on, and primary support person.
