THERMO STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS OF ROCKET NOZZLE USING FEM. The objectives of project work:

The Rocket Nozzle is made with Steel, composite and Graphite across the wall of nozzle. The high thrust required for the rocket is obtained in expense of combustion of gases which results in severe Thermal Stresses in the materials of the wall due to rapidly varying high temperatures. The non-linearity in material properties and boundary conditions cannot yield theoretical solutions for temperature distribution and stresses inside the wall. So, a detailed Finite Element Analysis is done to predict temperature distribution and Thermal Stresses across the wall of nozzle using ANSYS. The analysis was carried out by numerical simulation.
