WORK EXPERIENCE:

PRODUCT/QUALITY INTERN- Solterix Medical New York, NY July 2019-Present

Manufacture accessory electrodes for the tDCS device (Transcranial Direct current stimulation)

Integrate the essential components of the production in an optimized manner.

Perform the quality check for the electrodes manufactured.

Product Design INTERN-Center for Discovery and Innovation, CUNY, NY July 2018-August 2018

Developed and optimized “Safe Toddler Cane”- A walking assistance device for blind kids.

Played a lead role in design optimization and perfecting the design using CAD software such as Solid Works.

Tested design prototypes and modified design based upon test results.

Investigated and evaluated existing technology and conducted risk analysis for products under development.

Conducted feasibility studies of the design to determine the ability to function as needed.

Worked on 3D printers for manufacturing and critical evaluation of functionality and comfort of the user.

(Safe toddler cane: provides hands-free cane in a more toddler form with tactile next step warning as a long, white cane).

BIOMEDICAL ENGINEER-Wayanad Institute of Medical Science, India Mar 2017-July 2017

Installed, tested, calibrated and repaired biomedical equipment, trained users, maintained operations and thereby supported patient diagnosing and treatment in a hospital setup.

Provided technical advice, troubleshooting support carried out servicing and maintenance of all kind of medical equipment and contributed to maintaining asset inventory.

BIOMEDICAL ENGINEER-Trimedx India Pvt Ltd., Bangalore, India May 2016-Nov 2016

Organized and performed in-house warranty, AMC (annual maintenance contract) periodic preventive maintenance, Calibration for all medical equipment.

Performed daily rounds and maintenance of all operation Theatres and ICU’s and attended break down maintenance and rectified problems.

PROJECTS:

3-D printed Prosthetic hand:

Designed and 3-D printed prosthetic hand which can mimic the action of the human hand by receiving EMG signals from it This works well for one hand amputees where they can coordinate the actions of the prosthetic arm with their own hand.

Hand Gesture Recognition and Voice Conversion System for Voice impaired People:

An artificial mouth for voice impaired people- a device which converts the gestures into voice so that voice impaired can communicate with other people without hindrance. Sensors like accelerometer and flex meter are used to sense the gestures and microcontrollers are used to control voice output for corresponding gestures.

PUBLICATIONS& AWARDS:

Paper publication in International Journal of Emerging Trends in Science and Technology after presenting a paper on ’Design and contrive of a shoe tri-axial force and pressure measurement for diagnosing foot ailments’ in International Conference on ‘Breakthrough in Engineering, Science, and Technology (INCBEST 2016) (The paper presents a wireless smart shoe system to analyze different postures and characteristics of motion while walking.)
