EMPLOYMENT

SYSTEM ANALYST (OCTOBER 2018 – MAY 2019)

Olympus Insurance Palm Beach Gardens, FL

Work with various Team leads and Department Heads to determine requirements and develop team and business dashboards using Power BI, including creating calculated columns using DAX.

Help the CTO plan migration of SQL Servers from on premises to a cloud based system in Azure.

Create SSIS packages to import and export data from various databases, regularly using Script objects using C# code.

Helped various clients analyze their needs and examined their databases and verified their data to determine whether their data was in a mature enough state to beginning to perform Data Analytic processes and retrieve accurate predictions based on the data models.

Worked to get clients data into a mature state by identifying any gaps in the data or possible outliers in the data; then either bridged the gap with median data or helped the client find the original data and had it entered into the their database system.

Discussed with Project Managers to determine how long specific database items would take to develop and then worked them into the project stories.

Developed T-SQL stored procedures, functions and SSRS reports based on client specifications.

Executed R and Python code to see if the data model worked the way the Data Scientist designed and programmed it to work and to learn about how it worked.

LEAD TECHNICAL DATA ANALYST (MARCH 2017 – OCTOBER 2017)

Worked with the IT Director to develop a Dashboard to report information about the ticketing system which uses a MySQL database as a backend system. The Dashboard is designed to display the status of the open tickets, which departments have made requests, the numbers of tickets in each priority category and other stats determined by the IT Director.

Analyze and solve technical problems in dealing with report accuracy and database timeouts. Enhance underlying stored procedures and queries to prevent reports from timing out when run manually so the business can stop relying on subscription based reporting as much.

Worked with the IT Director, the CEO and heads of other various departments to analyze and reverse engineer their existing solution, which is currently very old and not robust at all.

Performed analysis of what is needed by each department for their needs that can be met by a new system and the database needs of the new system. Developed any ETL packages and processes which would be needed to migrate the existing systems data with the chosen replacement system; using SSIS and some C# code.

Develop a plan to migrate our existing data systems into the new systems being considered; from a hardware, software, data and process points of view.

Implement a set of standards for database development and source control; currently there are absolutely no standards, no documentation and very little source control.

Worked on creating a SSAS Data Warehouse for the Enterprise Reporting group to use; using Dimension and Fact tables to organized the data properly and provide efficient response time.

Helped the Head of the Enterprise Reporting Group analyze the Redshift database that he developed to test the correct values were being returned and to make sure all the necessary data was in the Redshift database.

Setup the ETL processes for transferring the data from the day to day database to the Data Warehouse using SSIS.

HEAD OF DATABASE DEVELOPMENT (OCTOBER 2016 – MARCH 2017)

Enhanced the existing standards for all developers creating T-SQL code and releasing code into RMS various environments, to include naming convention standards, documentation code, managing version control, and coding to avoid slow performing code.

Created standards for creating SSIS packages to maintain efficiency, maintainability and security

Found, interviewed and give final approval for hire of a new Database Administrator position

Work with the Database Administrator to develop a plan to implement a greater detailed monitoring and reporting systems to provide more in depth reporting of when system jobs fail, since the DBMail system is not available because of security concerns.

Worked with the Senior SQL Developers on each application to develop and maintain a coherent architecture for each application and how the applications work together and transfer information between each other using SSIS packages.

Worked with the program mangers for each application to co-ordinate and handle each applications release to QC (Regression) and Production.

Check during the process that the database scripts, SSRS Reports and SSIS packages are ready and available for the release manager to provide as smooth a release as possible.

Mentor junior level SQL developers to help them increase their skills and confidence when dealing with SQL code so that when they are discussing the database aspect of an application they will be able to speak with authority.

Worked with each Project Manager to help them refine their specifications in regards to the database and help them architect a solution to meet their required change requests. I coordinated with the database developers on each team to help them implement the architected solution.

Documented each version of the database from release to release, creating ERD and Data Modeling diagrams using Embarcadero ER/Studio and Erwin.

Plan and implement to upgrade from SQL Server 2012 to SQL Server 2014 company-wide; replacing log shipping transfer of data to using SSIS packages for various ETL processes to transfer the same data between servers.

Create and modify T-SQL code for stored procedures, functions and triggers that meet the Internet-based application requirements.

Worked with application developers to analyze, design and develop stored procedures using T-SQL and any underlying database objects and structures that might be need to support the agreed upon design.

Analyzed any database T-SQL code that the application developers write to make sure that the code integrates into the existing code, overall design, and maintains the needed performance standards.

Helped to develop and maintain the turnkey, back-end database of the Spector360 corporate monitoring software.

Spector360 database is a dynamic, high performance a database developed using SQL Server; that is designed to be a stand-alone system, no need for an on-site DBA to manage system.

Created stored procedures using T-SQL that created and ran jobs that handled backing up the multiple databases to removing data that is older than a prescribed number of days

Developed and troubleshot T-SQL stored procedures that returned datasets Spector360 used in reporting; aggregate data, transactional data and histograms.

Developed stored procedures to migrate Spector360 databases from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005.

Dealt with customer problems related to the database. Developed scripts to fix problems with their data or possibly to the stored procedures and functions themselves.

Created series of SSIS routines that migrate the internal Spectorsoft database from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005.
