NETWORK ENGINEER

A skillful manager offering extensive experience in all phases of Network Planning, Engineering and Project Management. Strong aptitude to interact effectively with management and non-management personnel. Known for great troubleshooting skills and excellent communication and interpersonal capabilities. Technical skills include:

●Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Power Point)

●Cisco technologies such as Routers and Switches (working on CCNA certification)

●TIRKS

●ROADM, SONET, and ETHERNET RADIO MICROWAVES

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

ATT, Sacramento, CA September 2004 – March 2019

Senior Specialist Network Design (2004 - 2019)

●Managed Fujitsu and Cisco ROADM Transport Networks Elements by building the required facilities in TIRKS such as OTNs (Optical Transport Networks) for Gigabit Ethernet circuits and to rearrange SONET rings onto ROADM to recoup fiber cables for future growth.

●Managed and built in TIRKS, TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) OC192, OC48, OC12 and OC3 SONET rings to provide facilities for T3s and T1s.

●Identified opportunities to provide redundancy for the SONET rings by utilizing new fiber cables that were installed for diversity purposes. These diverse new fiber pairs allow continuity to the rings in the event of an unexpected cable cut of any of the sections. Consequently, the network continued working uninterruptedly when the California fires destroyed several counties including Butte, Paradise, and Mariposa.

● Provided SS7 and e911 critical circuit diversity by finding diverse T1 circuits on the Transport Network. If any diversity violation, corrected the violation by finding or building new T1s on diverse D4s and T3s that must be on diverse rings and muxes.

●Worked with the design team to build the Ethernet or TDM circuits requested by the customers. Once the circuits are designed, set up conference calls and prepared Excel spreadsheets with all the circuit ids and work orders to share the project progress with all the groups involved such as Marketing, Outside Plant, and Operations.

●Worked closely with testers and techs to correct any problem and ensured the circuits were turned up.

●Issued rearrange orders to move T1s from old copper spans to T3 facilities resulting in improved Network reliability.

●Installed and managed Microwave Radios to provide Ethernet and TDM service to towns in mountainous or remote areas where fiber cables are not available.

●Found opportunities to groom circuits to free up facilities for held orders satisfying customers and saving capital.

●Wrote jobs to install new muxes to build T3s when requested by customers.

Central Office Internet Engineer (2000 - 2004)

●Wrote jobs to install Cisco Routers, Cisco Switches and Applied Innovations AI Scouts to build and configure the COI (Central Office Internet) Network to provide connectivity for the ENOC group to remotely monitor several Network elements such as SONET, Lite span 2000, Titans, Repeaters, and Multiplexers.

●Created the designs which included the IP addresses and subnet masks and configured the Routers and Switches in the Northern California Region. Worked closely with the OCS technicians to troubleshoot any problem to turn up the shelves on a timely manner.
