Contributions:
•Removed exacto knives from all departments and replaced them with ceramic bladed knives reducing serious cuts (stitches required) by 100%.
•Implemented a lock out box system that only supervisors could access to use between shifts that did not overlap. This ensured that equipment was being locked out and reduced cutting off and replacing locks by 100%.
•Dealt with a work emergency at 3:00am. I was able to calm distressed employees, provide EAP services information and make sure they had safe transportation to go home. Met with them all the next morning to see how they were coping and they all really appreciated me being there and the emotional support I provided. The company was in compliance but I recommended additional preventive training which was immediately implemented.
•Received information about a new employee that was experiencing mental health issues and was going to cause himself harm at work. I called the Plant Manager, Owners and Police and immediately arranged for all heavy equipment to be shut down and security on site until the employee was located. The police took over and the employee was found safe.

•Male employee that was not willing to take direction from a female. The employee, myself and the supervisor sat down and discussed the situation. We reached an understanding and the behaviour changed resulting in mutual respect and a good working relationship.

•Supplier was waiting to unload and was upset because he had been waiting so long. I explained that it was an internal situation that was out of our immediate control, this honestly settled him down and he waited patiently to unload.
