EXPERIENCE
2019 – CURRENT
HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT (INTERNSHIP), ONESPACE
While interning at OneSpace it has been important that I am able to adapt smoothly into their culture. I took the initiative on tasks and was willing to assist others with their work. My experiences have included: research and analysis, participating in the recruiting process and other special projects. Open and receptive to both positive and negative feedback.
2006 – CURRENT
PARAPROFESSIONAL
BELLEVILLE DISTRICT #201
My first seven years I worked at Belleville West High School in the Behavior Disorder program. Here I dealt with many of kids who came from broken homes, abuse, and foster care. The last seven years I have been at Belleville East in the Life Skills program. This program has the lowest functioning kids in the school. Working closely with several types of disabilities such as: Down syndrome, autism, severe brain damage, Cerebral palsy and children born addicted. I also work closely with a team of adults including many paraprofessionals, teachers, therapists, nurses and social workers. Duties often performed were toileting, tube feeding, feeding, flexibility, decision making, empathy, accountability and a sense of humor.
2018
ASSISTANT TENNIS COACH
Tennis has been a passion of mine for over 25 years. In 2018 I became the Assistant Tennis Coach at Lindenwood on the Belleville campus. I created and played out various drills, traveled with and led them near and far and built strong relationships with my players.
1999-2006
PARAPROFESSIONAL, BELLEVILLE AREA SPECIAL SERVICES COOPERATIVE
I had various roles with BASSC. I worked with young autistic children all the way to high functioning Asperger young adults, working side by side with several therapists and teachers closely. Traveling to different schools every year, I was able to adapt to my new surroundings smoothly. Being an individual care aide during my time there and working with kids one on one when needed. Some children required toileting, behavior management, feeding, and helping them stay on task and focused.
