WORK EXPERIENCE:
Parsons, Houston, Tx. / Richmond Ky. (Jan 2, 2019 – March 18, 2019) Sr. Control Systems Engineer
(Project; SPR-LE2/BGCAPP)
As a Sr. CSE Engineer on SPR-LE2, recent contributions include the creation/checking of field instrument datasheets. Other activities include reviewing and updating instrument specifications to current industry standards and codes.
As the Sr. Instrument Engineer on BGCAPP, activities engaged include creating a manhour estimate and document deliverable list to a large project revision to a munition’s chemical agent removal plant.
AJM Consulting, Houston, Tx. (Dec, 2017 – Sept, 2018) Sr. Communications Engineer
As a Sr. Engineer, I successfully contributed to the engineering of local fiber optic and tele-communication sites. This involved designing DC power systems as well as other systems in local tele-communication shelters. More specifically tasks included, purchasing, procuring and engineering radio and other ancillary equipment to facilitate telecommunication, data and texting.
DOW Chemical, Houston, Tx., (May, 2015 – Oct, 2017) Sr. Control Systems / Instrument Engineer
Poly 5 & Poly 6 – Polyethylene – Freeport TX., (Polyethylene Plants - EPC)
As a Sr. CSE Engineer, accomplishments included benefiting the project concerning man-hours and schedule by assisting and expediting instrumented package equipment documents purchased by Mechanical. This was also accomplished by working directly with the Equipment Suppliers regarding functionality, specifications, codes, standards and constructability. In addition, other Supplier documents such as narratives, instrument indexes, manufacturer/model numbers, instrument ratings, shipping status (installed/loose), air & power requirements, wiring and installation details were reviewed and modified when required. Some of the instrumented packages included, but are not limited to, compressors, boxing assembly lines, water treatment, and material handling equipment. There were thirty plus packages.
While at DOW I also successfully communicated information required by DOW’s “High Value Center” to complete wiring schedules (via SPI), which included checking them before construction issue. In addition responsibilities included creating CADD drawings and/or sketches for complex wiring and installations not delegated to “High Value Center”, to insure that Construction could install complicated package equipment efficiently and correctly. Other successful activities included interfacing and communicating with the Electrical, Piping, Vessels, Mechanical and the Process disciplines face to face, email, phone and weekly meetings related to issues concerning motor control schematics, instrument piping connections, level instruments connections, package equipment instrumentation and process data required for instrument and valve selection. I also successfully assisted construction and commissioning through project completion.
Ventech Engineers, Pasadena, Tx. (June, 2011- April, 2015) Sr. Lead Control Systems / Instrument Engineer
Dakota Prairie Refinery – Crude Refinery – North Dakota, (Crude, Naphtha, DHT Hydro-treater, HGU Units - EPC)
While at Ventech, accomplishments that greatly benefited Ventech included saving many hours and schedule by helping to implement a more efficient process of procuring instruments. As a result of timely delivery and installation of all instrumentation to skids they were completed and shipped either early or on schedule. This project was completely built locally on skids and shipped to the site. Contractual incentives were achieved as a result of this accomplishment combined with similar efforts of all disciplines.
Accomplishments included creating and maintaining the Project Estimated Instrument Man-hour Report, Engineering Man-hour Summary Report and the instrument schedule. Other activities included delegating and participating in the completion of the DCS/SIS system, datasheets, requisitions, cause & effects and narratives. Activities also included P&ID development including contributing to project P&ID reviews.
Accomplishments also included the selection & specification field instruments.
