Cover Letter
Kayla Lawson
North Bergen, NJ *****
Mobile Number: 1-347-***-**** Email: ******.***.***@*****.*** Please accept this letter as an application for any suitable positions within your company. My resume is enclosed for your consideration, as well as an assortment of photos of my work as a professional in the beauty industry.
My goal at this time is to become a stronger business woman in general. I am most passionate about makeup artistry but am willing to gain experience in other areas of business or related industries in order to broaden my skill set.
I am accomplished in the arts of Special FX, Fashion, Editorial and Bridal makeup. I’m often able to sell additional products for the company by persuading customers to add complementary products to their purchase(s). I’ve taught clients in various makeup and skincare related classes, teaching them personalized techniques. As a result, clients return seeking further classes, feeling more confident in themselves and their ability to apply their own makeup. My work has inspired others around me to elevate themselves, and as for support I’d give them tips and tricks to help elevate their artistry skills and their clients’ experience. My passion for the makeup industry is evolving; I have recently been improving my tech skills and have also gained an interest in branding and product design.
In my personal time, I’ve been proactively increasing my computer literacy and entrepreneurial skills. By learning how to write code using the command line, I’ve gained an appreciation for how automation allows businesses to get dramatically more work done. I have seen how to build customized software
(like inventory/accounting systems and real-time analytics), servers, networked communications (using sockets) and how to develop an online presence - without which, businesses wouldn’t be able to expand as rapidly in our current digital age.
Over the past 5 years, I’ve performed in a variety of environments. As a result, I’ve been exposed to diverse people, work styles, standards of measurement and demands. I have contributed to the success of management teams and have worked on my own without supervision. I have mastered the ability to deal with frustrated clients and management under pressure. Throughout my experiences, I have received consistently high praise from superiors and clients, many of whom are ready to serve as references, should you wish to contact them.
In addition to the above, I am most happy to present my positive, result-oriented work ethic and a pleasant professional demeanor.
If it sounds like I might be a suitable candidate for any opportunities that you may have, please feel free to contact me anytime.
Sincerely,
Kayla Lawson
