As the Consultant with the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) I ensured that strategic planning and alignment of the IT Portfolio to Enterprise Strategic RoadMap. Define metrics, tools and templates related to portfolio management, resource/capacity planning, scope/risks/issues management, budget/financial management. Created reports and presented portfolio status to C-Suite executives, developed project governance promoting innovation and standardization.

As a Program Manager oversaw a 53 million dollar One WellStar Epic Connect Hardware and Infrastructure Program. Leading eight project teams, the scope of work consists of 52 Information Technology closet buildouts, over 1351 Wireless Access Point installations, and over 4500 hardware device deployments.

Manager IT Services Operations (11/2014 to 2/2016) WellStar Health System, Atlanta GA

Leads a team of 30 + expert technicians providing hardware, application, and software support to over 14,000 users within 5 major hospitals and 180 + remote physician medical group practices surrounding the Metro Atlanta area. Responsible for maintaining over 20,000 + endpoint devices, implementing critical business strategies by managing the development, installation, vendor selection, maintenance and repair of technology equipment. Sponsors multiple projects and oversees technical staff to ensure special specifications are met and integrated into WellStar’s standards and current practices.

Managed a 5.5 Million dollar MS Windows 7 migration. Microsoft XP reached End of Life for support and did not meet HIPAA and PCI compliance requirements. Roughly 13,500 XP devices were upgrades within, 5 hospitals, 1 former hospital (now a nursing home), 4 major administrative and IT sites, Approximately 180 WMGs (WellStar Medical groups), Laundry buildings, warehouses, R&D sites, Users’ homes and on the road (mostly laptops used by Home Health providers and others)

Senior IT Program Manager (04/2013 to 11/2014) WellStar Health System, Atlanta GA

As the Infrastructure Program Manager, I work closely with WellStar Executive Leadership and IT Managers to design, development, implement programs, and projects for WellStar Health System. Managed Infrastructure Programs through the complete Systems Development Life Cycle. Creating system specific project plans, activity and task sequencing, goals, deadlines, testing and implementation to the extent to which tasks can be performed concurrently. Developed and maintained associated project plan templates, supporting documentation, and monitors resource utilization and costs.

Successfully managed a $3.5 million in Network Infrastructure Hardware upgrade for the Epic EHR Implementation. Installed 7500 additional network data connections, 2000 power circuits, and 212 Cisco Catalyst 3850 Series Switches in over 5 major hospitals and 180 Medical group practices.

Managing the $300k in upgrade of digital and analog Avaya phones to IP Phones. The upgrade of Communication Manager 5.x on S8720 with MCC cabinets to Communication Manager 6.x on (2) DL360G7 Duplex Servers with dual power supplies with (14) G450 Media Gateways with dual power supplies (installed in 3 MDFs), 28 80 Channel Daughterboards, add 1,842 users to Modular Messaging, 825 IP Terminals, (2,053) Analog Devices, 32 Analog line/trunks, 24 Digital ports and (6) PRI’s.

Managed a $300 million wireless infrastructure upgrade of 160 WellStar Medical Group sites. Performed wireless survey’s, determined AP location based on power and cabling requirements, configured Wireless controllers and AP’s then preformed installations and finally conducted Wireless Access Point Testing, Validation, and Acceptance.

Senior IT Program Manager (02/2012 to 4/2013) Columbus Regional Healthcare System, Columbus GA

Responsible for overseeing and managing corporate level programs as well as large to medium projects. Directed full lifecycle projects to include initiation through deployment/warranty. IT Manager – Projects (11/2006 to 10/2011) National Geospatial- Intelligence Agency, Washington DC

Responsible for planning, managing implementing, and the successful delivery of assigned software deployment, infrastructure and system integration projects for the entire NGA enterprise. Replaced over two miles of CAT5 unshielded twisted pair Fiber Optic cable in support of new and future critical Information Systems. Project was completed 2 weeks ahead of schedule, under budget and with less manpower specified in the project plan.

Developed objectives to maximize use of manpower responsible for prioritizing, processing and disseminating over 50,000 time sensitive messages agency wide, and ensuring 24x7 message handling capabilities and Ops/Intel availability to the NGA Director and executive staff.

Network Engineering Manager (6/2004 to 11/2006) National Geospatial- Intelligence Agency, Bethesda Maryland

Responsible for overseeing the activities of a multi-tiered 10 person staff, providing on and offsite engineering and technical support to network systems, and special IT support to the Director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), numerous base commanders, and other senior government leaders. Performed general management duties; including developing training plans which included hands on training encouraging career progression for employees, budget oversight and fulfilling manpower requirements.

Developed and implemented the first-ever traveling Command Center Communications Cell providing essential 24x7 communication expertise and messaging services to the Director, of NGA, Executive Committee, and Key Component Leaders anywhere on the planet.

Implemented essential in house training center responsible for training and certifying military officers and civilians on the proper handling and dissemination of classified and unclassified Defense Message System (DMS) and Multi-Media Message Manager (M3) special category message traffic. Directly responsible for the availability and integrity of worldwide alert and mass notification system (ENVOY),and specialized training for the Crisis Action Team (CAT) personnel ensuring constant state of readiness. Saving over 6% (400,000) in annual training.

Initiated network enhancements that cut down time for over 100 critical customer circuits to under 30 minutes; a 50% decrease.

Lead personnel as supervisor of the Help Desk/ Call Center which oversaw problem resolution for over 7,500 network customers supporting the 89th Airlift Wing who provided Special Air Mission support for the President, Vice President and other senior government leaders.
