Working as Senior System Administrator and looking after EIS Imaging operations, monitoring workflow of scanned documents various stages. Monitoring scripts running through cron jobs on each sever and debugging the log files in case of failure.

Project:

The Tiff images of the document are integration with the database and are written to the platters on the jukeboxes and the corresponding metadata related to images are stored in Mainframe. There are 6 servers, which are synchronized to perform the imaging operation and involves database server and Mainframe.

Supporting the EIS Imaging Operations and its peripherals such as Sony/HP Juke Boxes.

Wrote UNIX shell scripts to monitor status of jukeboxes and Imaging servers which needs to be in sync at all times for proper functioning.

Configured the HP juke box MX 2200 on D370 Server and in Sietec

Configured the Arc Server backup for temporary storage of images on the DLT Tape Library for a week and when the images are written on the optical platter the tapes are re-written again.

Automated the jukebox monitoring, importing of platters and backup of platters through Shell scripts. Finding inventory of platters and monitoring space for procurement of platters before we ran out of space.

Wrote Shell script for File transfers to M/F and were automated through cron jobs. Any error while FTP was notified by pager

Wrote Shell script for various operational jobs which intern calls C programs with the appropriate arguments. These scripts are run through cron.

Modified the Shell scripts to integrate the data from NJ and CA at NY. The Data from these locations were stored under different region name and the operations were synchronized with the NY operations.

Troubleshoot Production Server Problems, mainly related to Veritas Volume Manager (VXvm) & MC/SG (MC Service Guard)

Backup strategy was implemented with NetBackup, which was loaded on L3000 and the clients on the rest of the servers. Raw partition backup’s such as Sybase database was possible with this backup.
