A licensing specialist is responsible for reviewing, analyzing and tracking licensing applications of salespeople, auto dealers, manufacturers, manufacturer distributors, manufacturer representatives, buyer agents, and to determine if all required documents have been submitted to comply with applicable Colorado Revised Statutes, specific regulations, licensing guidelines and internal policies. Other duties include using software applications to retrieve criminal information; completing basic analysis of background information to determine any nationwide criminal history; interacting with licensees; and preparing written summaries to the Licensing Manager. The position researches and tracks bond cancelation letters, provides guidance to applicants by phone and in person on licensing procedures, prepares documents for archiving, acts as the area receptionist, processes mail, and performs other duties as assigned. A background specialist is responsible for the fingerprinting of auto dealers, manufacturers, manufacturer distributors, manufacturer representatives, and buyer agents as well as daily researching of criminal and tax background using various government software and websites on all applicants applying for a license in the state of Colorado.
