Interconnect Engineer

Order circuits through AT&T ASR web page, along with Frontier (Legacy Verizon) ASR web page for the Chicago-Milwaukee markets. From T-1 level to Gig-E circuits. Edit and enter these into Granite XNG software. Also work with Granite Worx and Siterra. This involves building segments & paths within the tool.

Working with RF Engineering on cell site activity as well.

Additionally, assist in RF Engineering in core network growth of DS-1’s into the Huawei BSC’s.

Work with migration team using SQL to load into Granite XNG.

Nextel-Sprint – Direct Hire Livonia Michigan (10/1998-3/2008)

Equipment Engineer

Responsible to review and approve installation Methods of Procedures (MOPS) and project manage installation vendors to ensure projects were completed according to corporate policies within specified timeframes for Michigan and Ohio Mobile Switch Offices (MSO). Participated in annual 18-month strategic planning. Audited equipment and collaborated with National Headquarters (NHQ) to create projects to clean up previous installations that were found to be of poor quality to enhance network quality and reliability.

Key Achievements:

Effectively communicated with Manager and installation leads to coordinate project coverage with MSO operations

Maintained documentation in Coverage Calendar of all department personnel work schedules

Supervised and managed installation of equipment within the MSO.

Install all equipment into MetaSolv M6 including updating of frame installation and wiring in all categories.

Coordinated with vendors and NHQ Equipment Engineers to facilitate installation completion by deadline.

Received purchase orders through Atlas software.

Review and approval of installations MOP.

Design Engineer

MetaSolv Engineer Lead designer and resident expert for all circuits of DS3 and above capacity for the Detroit Market. Created drawings for these circuit designs. I was responsible for lead project management of implementing the TBS M6 software for the Telco group. Effectively collaborated with other groups and NHQ to provide layouts and updated reference sheets for the SS7 circuits in the market.

Key Achievements:

MetaSolv design T1, T3 and OC system bandwidth within the M6 software for numerous markets.

Worked with MetaSolv SME’s using SQL to load circuits to MetaSolv system. (migration to MetaSolv).

Produced accurate designs which contributed to Michigan Markets discrepancy rate of 99.63%.

Rerouted circuits for outage restoration through creative thinking and knowledge of MSO.

Effectively assisted other teams in the region with regards to DCS audits and IMT design.

Acted as subject matter expert (SME) of equipment layout and DCS information for the ring.

Demonstrated expertise in documenting resources such as spreadsheets and the SONET inventory sheets for the Michigan Market. Along with keeping MetaSolv up to date extensively.

Effectively trained new personnel in DACS access, Tellabs and Alcatel.

Interconnect Analyst Livonia Michigan

Lead subject matter expert on DAC functionality. Designed all DS3 ports and assigned all cross connections in Titan 5500 and 532 L machine and Alcatel 1630 and 1631 in the Detroit area MSOs.

This in conjunction with project managing the ordering and turn up of these facilities with fellow operations in the market.

Key Achievements:

Worked within MetaSolv M6 creating and designing T1, T3 and OC-x circuits.

Test, wire, cross connect and turn up T1, T3 and OC-x circuits.

Effectively engineered the expansion of the DACS equipment.

Designed the STP network for the Detroit market, assigning T1 and DS-O to full capacity.

Effectively engineered traffic off of Alcatel 1631 onto another for increased bandwidth.

Used T Bird test set 209, 224 & 310 testing, accepting and troubleshooting circuits.

*Awarded the Circle of Excellence Award for trouble shooting an OC3 slick that provided the building with dial tone and SS7 service during the power brown out of August 2003

*Awarded the employee of the month award in August of 2003 for engineering and execution of migration of circuits from one Alcatel 1631 to larger Alcatel 1631
