SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE

A diligent and practical statistician and business intelligence analyst with exceptional people, systems and organisational skills. Career highlights include 2 years with NWMPHN, analyzing and writing priority area profiles identifying health needs in the region to then assist the business’s activity work plans. Senior Data Analyst

North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network – May 2017 to present

North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network is one of 31 Primary Health Networks (PHNs) across Australia, established by the Commonwealth Government in 1 July 2015. The North Western Melbourne PHN is an independent, locally governed and run, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving primary health care in our local communities.

Provide technical, descriptive and analytical data reports as requested, for example to the PHN Executive team, Senior Leadership Team, Advisory Councils, Board Committees, and commissioning groups

Provide expert and authoritative advice, reasoned and evidence informed recommendations and innovative policy/program options to senior management as required.

Support and facilitate all data and information collection, recording and knowledge-sharing processes, in line with the appropriate organisational policies and procedures;

Keep relevant statistical information (quantitative and qualitative) up to date for business planning and delivery;

Prepare a range of program relevant documents for key internal and external stakeholders, including the translation and interpretation of data into reports, briefings, and discussion papers.

Collect and monitor information in the external environment on a regular basis.

Development of infographics, geospatial maps and visualisation.

Source, interpret, and analyse complex and sensitive population health data and health system performance information to inform PHN region needs assessment process, local priority setting and developed robust indicators and measures.

Use evidence and research to target and inform population health interventions and influence access to and delivery of health services.

Research, initiate and undertake the analysis of a range of data sets, including survey and administrative data collections, particularly relating to service and workforce supply and demand within the health sector.

Act as the day to day advisor for NWMPHN staff regarding health data and information, assisting with research, analysis, evaluation and impact/outcome measurement across the entire range of PHN programs.

Work with the Director, Data Research and Evaluation to support the implementation of education and training to build the skills of employed staff and contracted providers.

Support the work of PHN advisory committees, advisory councils, collaboratives and governance groups as required.

Work with the Director, Data Research and Evaluation and others to ensure provider (contract) performance information is captured, reported and fed back into the commissioning cycle appropriately.

Develop and maintain effective working relationships with external stakeholders, including for example, those with similar positions in the other PHNs and more broadly i.e. ABS.

Key contact for both our primary care and clinical health data systems E.G. PEN / POLAR.

Build and maintain links with funding bodies, peak bodies and other relevant organisations.

Develop KPIs for the business to meet SLA targets using SAS

Develop operational reporting for the business using SAS

Liaise with finance in developing tactical reports handed over from an external consultant

Automation of the reports in SAS to enable them to run in my presence and send out emails of the reports to respected users
