As an IT Support Officer in the Information Technology Department at the Bond Savings and Loans Limited, I am tasked with the day-to-day monitoring the network on a PRGT software which I have all the servers, radios and other network devices on to help me monitor them from my computer and also I monitor all computer systems by assisting all users of these systems in using their various software’s installed their computers. In view of that, I attended series of training workshops that equipped me the technical know-how on the use of some of the software’s so I could effectively undertake my duties. I was also co-responsible for the managing of the computer servers as I daily check the logs to avoid any foreign IPs from accessing the servers and also checking on the applications whether they are also running well on the servers.
I also extended my duties by learning how to install CCTV Cameras and configuration of Dlink PBX and IP Phones which am now an expert. With constant research on maintenance and repairs on IT equipment, I am able to repair office equipment such as the computers, UPS and printers which have saved the company some amount of money that would have gone into its maintenance.

I helped the unit by checking the validity status of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) cards using the NHIS software and also making sure the NHIS form is filled well without any mistakes.
With my ICT knowledge, I came up with an idea of using last numbers (i.e. 0-9) to arrange on different shelves Patient Files in a way that will be very easy for retrieval whenever anyone is going for a Patient’s File.
Working in the IT Department of Primex Ghana Limited as an attachment student, I helped solve some basic hardware and software problems including reinstallations, repair of malfunctioning of system unit, troubleshooting of personal computers among others.
