Responsible for conducting market conduct examinations and audits of the business practices of Title Insurance Companies, Property and Casualty Companies, Premium Finance Companies, Motor Companies, Agents and/or Agencies licensed to do business in Maryland, in order to assess compliance with Maryland insurance and banking laws and regulations. These examinations are essential to carry out the mission of the Maryland Insurance Administration by protecting consumers from fraud, misrepresentation, unfair trade practices, and to ensure that companies are in compliance with their filings, underwriting guidelines, and to serve their policyholders and consumers in a fair and equitable manner.
