Established the first centre in North-West Delhi to perform Cadaveric and Living related Liver transplant and Renal transplant.

Established the first center in Delhi where same operative team did a cadaveric liver transplant and two kidney transplants over two days.

Have performed four innovative procedures during 2014 to 2016 which are not described before and are under various staged of editing to be sent for publications.

Since 2001 I have taken regular classes of under-graduate and post-graduate students and nursing staff during three years of residency period in MS (Surgery) and three years of senior residency period during super specialty training.

Regularly presented lectures and talks on liver transplantation at medical expos, international liver symposium and CAST 2011, Korea.

Most recently I was invited as a guest faculty to deliver a lecture on “Recent Advances in GI Surgery” at Maharishi Markandeshwar Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Mullana,.

I have had more than 29 publications in indexed papers and more than 125 publications in all the leading newspaper, magazines, health magazines of India, with regular publications of four to six articles a month covering all aspect of Liver Transplant, HPB & GI Surgery. Most recently I had a paper published on “Drain Appendicitis: A Bewildering Anecdote”. Clin Surg. 2018; 3: 2204 on 9th November 2018, in Clinics in Surgery, it has an Impact Factor of 1.820 and is pubmed indexed.

Best paper award on “To Evaluate The Immunomodulatory Effects Of Parenteral Fish Oil Supplementation In Malnourished Surgical Patients”, INTERNATIONAL CRITICAL CARE CONGRESS-2005.

Best oral paper award on “Right lobe Graft Arterial Inflow – Right or Left?” at IASG 2011.

Received the Nav Drishti Times (NDT) Hall of Fames Award of 2017 for my services in health care.

Awarded Assistant Professorship in Surgical Gastroenterology at GB Pant PGI MER, New Delhi in 2009.

I was Chairperson of GI Surgery Program, Converge, “Controversies to Consensus in GI Surgery”, 2014-2016, a Harvard University Accredited Program, USA.

I have started satellite OPD’s clinic for liver and kidney disorders at Sylhet, Bangladesh in 2015 and at Yangoon, Myanmar in 2016 to help liver and kidney patients in two adjacent countries.

Initiated an NGO named CORD (Campaign on Organ Donation) at Press Club of India, on 18th, July, 2015. This NGO works for promoting organ donation awareness in India by conducting regular camps and media events so that general public can realise the need for organ donation and how they could potentially help others after their deaths.

HOSPITAL AND DEPARTMENT DURING MBBS, INTERNSHIP AND MS (Surgery):

Maulana Azad Medical College is currently ranked 3rd in the country (by India today & Times of India) is spread over a campus in 122 acres. Attached to the college are 4 other institutes – Lok Nayak Hospital, Govind Ballabh Pant Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (GIPMER), Maulana Azad Institute of Dental sciences and Guru Nanak Eye Center. The college is named after a great patriot and educationist, Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad and stands today as an epitome of medical excellence It is one of the best place for learning with 2800 beds, 7200 daily outpatient attendance and 47 operation theatres running daily. It caters to 290 undergradtuate students, 245 post graduate and post doctoral students per year being trained by 426 faculty members and 810 resident doctors. The hospital provides general medical care in the departments of basic and paramedical sciences as well as in clinical fields of medicine, surgery, gynecology, anesthesiology, orthopedics and Pediatrics. The hospital also has super specialty departments of Plastic surgery, Neurosurgery and Pediatric surgery. The hospital also has separate department for HIV training and management. The hospital has a separate department for environmental health. It has all modern facilities such as dialysis, respiratory care and CCU. Our Surgery department is considered amongst the finest in the state. We have eight M.S. (Surgery) seats per year recognized by the Medical Council of India. We have our emergency and planned operative sessions in our own operation theater with 4 operating tables for 6 days a week. TRAINING DURING SUPER SPECIALIZATION - M.CH. (Surgical Gastroenterology)

Govind Ballabh Pant Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (GIPMER) is one of the few institutions in India with an M.Ch. Course in Surgical Gastroenterology. It has only 2 seats on an annual basis which are filled by a tough competitive exam at the national level. The department has 42 bedded ward and in addition has its own 10 bedded dedicated ICU and 6 bedded liver ICU with state of the art equipment and management. The Department caters to complex Hepato-pancreatico-biliary and Gastrointestinal cases and has a fully equipped Laparoscopic station and an state of art OT. It is the only tertiary referral center of The Government of Delhi which has the Super specialty of Gastrointestinal Surgery. The department routinely does advance laparoscopic and hepatobiliary work. It also has a successful Liver Transplant program in its armamentarium.

TRAINING DURING FELLOWSHIP IN LIVER TRANSPLANT

Sir Ganga Ram Hospital is a 900 plus bedded super specialty hospital which caters to referred patients of liver transplant from throughout INDIA and also abroad like Pakistan, Burma. Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Yemen, Afghanistan, Europe and others. The Living donor liver transplant program here is the largest in the South Asia and second largest in whole world, with >500 LDLT done. The center performs about 140-150 LDLT annually.
