Role:
Underwriting Operations
Deciding whether applications for insurance cover (risks) should be accepted and on what terms after assessing a risk according to the likelihood of a claim being made by weighing up a number of factors
Issuing policies for import and export entailing all risks policies, transit policies, barge shipments, yacht policies, open policies, individual policies, fleet policies, fire insurance, burglary insurance, workmen compensation policies, medical mal practice etc. and issuing all types of endorsements and preparing all types of quotations
Handling the following travel insurance, issuance of Policies, providing rate on line, quote for international travel insurance, etc.
Operations Management
Following up for quotation with both customers and brokers and negotiating with the quotation rates, terms and conditions with the customers and brokers in marine, fire, workmen compensation, medical malpractice and travel insurance policies, medical policies.
Issuing all related bank documents and entering shipments details regularly and arranging voyage register, sending voyage register weekly to Head Office and handling continuous follow-up of the shipments
Providing travel insurances, quotes, rates and coordinating with travel agencies
Claims & Settlement Management
Identifying risk areas for the organisation, placing effective control mechanisms and mitigating losses on account of fraudulent claim practices, designing risk policies for the organisation from claims control perspective and ensuring that actual losses do not erode the actuarial pricing assumptions
Assessing the claims, managing pay-outs and claimant queries/complaint, attending disputes tribunals and finding amicable solution for the same

Deal directly with customers either by telephone, electronically or face to face
