Summary:
Over the past ten years I have developed a good working knowledge of the Allen-Bradley PLC product base as well as the HMI / Panel View family of products associated with them. A diverse assortment of PLCs as well as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, GE, Baldor motor drives and Honeywell temperature controllers have been included in my responsibilities. I have developed fixes as well as written some small programs and commissioned their associated projects successfully while in these positions. My previous computer experience is allowing me to pick up the Allen-Bradley, Rockwell Automation, and Siemens-TIA Software Applications and Utilities very quickly. I work with RSLogix 5 - 500 – Studio/5000, Panel Builder 32, Factory Talk View Studio, Drive Monitor, Mint Workbench and Drive Executive whenever required. I maintain all of my documentation via a combination of AutoCAD, Word, and Excel documents. I personally own a fully licensed copy of AutoCAD Electrical as well as maintain a current Autodesk subscription.

1985 – 2000 Storage Technologies Inc. (STK) / Network Systems Corporation (NSC)
Customer Engineer / Field Service Ft. Lauderdale, FL - Albany, NY
Since my resignation, STK has been purchased by Sun Microsystems. The contact and address information I once had is now obsolete.
In 1985 I left Four Phase Systems to work for Network Systems Corporation (NSC) in Ft. Lauderdale, FLA. as Local Field Support for their Proprietary Ultra High Speed Networking solutions. (Mainframe channel extension and their LAN product) Although I was initially working with a mentor, I soon became the only person supporting the Southern FL area. This included the entire Broward County (Ft. Lauderdale) Municipal Area Network with over 3000 user nodes. Within 2 years the National Technical Support team recruited me. This required that I hire and train two people to fill my position. I held my new National Support roll until relocating back to New England in 1989 to support a one man Prime Site contract for GE Plastics in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. When GE plastics consolidated their Data Center to a facility in the south I assumed sole primary support for the Albany, NY Capitol District area. In 1995 Storage Technologies (STK) purchased Network Systems. I was one of the few NSC people STK was willing to cross-train on their family of Magnetic Tape based Robotic Silos and Disk based high capacity data storage solutions.
1979 – 1985 Computer Optics / Four Phase Systems / Motorola Information Systems Group
Bench Technician - Customer Engineer / Field Service Danbury, Ct – Miami, FL
Computer Optics: A-Level Bench Tech trouble-shooting IBM Mainframe plug-compatible display controllers to a component level until their filing for Chapter-11. I was immediately re-employed by General Data Comm. as a Test Engineering Assistant maintaining the test equipment in their production and repair departments. Once allowed to reopen, Computer Optics brought me back to lead their Systems Test department where I trained and managed 6 new technicians. Four-Phase Systems eventually purchased computer Optics. This allowed me to transfer with Four-Phase Systems to the Miami, FL office where I was cross-trained on their product line of Mid-range Data Systems. (This was the beginning of my field service career.) I soon became team leader for the most efficient group of Customer Engineers at that location. We were typically rotated through trouble accounts to resolve chronic issues.
1978- 1979 Consolidated Controls
Bench Technician Danbury, Ct
Once discharged from the U.S.A.F. as a Computer System Specialist I began my civilian career with my first job as a bench tech in Danbury, Ct. Here I calibrated Strain Gauge pressure transducers for the Space Shuttle project.
