Kamran Ahmad is an Environmental Professional with over 13 years of experience in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) with baseline data survey and ambient monitoring and site assessment, Assessment of Scooping and Terms of Reference (TOR) for EIA projects, environmental management systems audit (ISO 14001:2015), preparation and implementation of construction environmental management plans (CEMP)and CEMP audit, waste management compliance, fulfillment of statutory and compliance obligation, interface with clients, PMCM and supervision consultants, environmental permitting and preparation of documents (daily, weekly and monthly compliance report)

Kamran has worked across a range of sectors, initially in India infrastructure sector and heavy industries, where he worked for major clients on environmental impact assessments on infrastructure (roads & highways),energy &power and urban development projects and providing support in the implementation of environmental management system for small scale and large scale industries.

After move to Qatar, Kamran focused on Environmental Coordinator for roads and highways and sewerage and drainage projects for Public Works Authority (ASHGHAL), completing input into the city of Doha/ Al Rayyan.

Currently, Kamran has focused on LREDC supported infrastructure and urban development projects in Lusail city, Qatar.

Kamran has currently performing the role of Environmental Manager and supported the top management of ARC in fulfillment of CEMP and legal compliance. Prepare, review and update CEMP, ensure any changes to the CEMP are made known to all staffs and sub-contractors. Liaise with LREDC representatives, PMCM and supervision consultant to ensure variation of the work that may impact on the environment. Deliver environmental induction and training to management, site engineers and workers. Conduct audit site inspections as required by the CEMP. Review sub-contractors environmental protection / mitigation measures to verify compliances with CEMP.

Al Rayyan/Jassim Bin Mohammad Roads & Infrastructure Project.

On this project Kamran prepared the construction environmental management plan (CEMP) and evaluated compliance of construction activities against the plan and with applicable legal and statutory laws. Kamran was also responsible for the management of environmental permitting including the project wide environmental permit and the permit for the crushing and batching plant. In line with his auditing responsibilities, Kamran developed appropriate corrective action plans arising from both his internal and external audits and identification of non-conformances.

During the construction phase of the project, Kamran coordinated air, water, soil, and noise sampling and analysis with approved laboratories and performed daily site inspections and prepared daily, weekly and monthly compliance reports. The role required proactive and extensive consultation with various internal and external stakeholders and bodies. To improve compliance with the CEMP and the environmental management system Kamran also developed and carried out a program of environmental awareness training and relevant briefings/tool box talks to the workers and staff.

Kamran undertook half-yearly compliance monitoring for air, water, soil, noise and stack monitoring and periodically reviewed environmental management documents subject to review cycles and change management. To improve compliance and environmental performance Kamran also developed and carried out a program of environmental awareness training and relevant briefings/tool box talks to the workers and staff; and he liaised with statutory bodies and the state pollution control board for consent to establish (NOC) and consent to operate.
