Responsibilities included, utilizing QuickBooks, the Selection, qualification, and approval of all vendors; negotiating, building, and maintaining professional vendor relationships; Performing on-site vendor Inspections; Sourced, priced, purchased, tracked, and expedited all raw materials; Submitted RFQ’s and RFP’s to suppliers and manufacturers throughout the USA;

Supervised all shipping and receiving as well as warehouse personnel, stockroom and facilities maintenance staff; Ensured that all commodities were distributed to the correct department in a timely manner; Interviewed, hired, trained, developed, scheduled and terminated said staff.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

I revamped the entire purchasing process enabling more cost efficient purchases utilizing blanket orders and scheduled deliveries. I established partnerships with all vendors, and rearranged the entire stockroom allowing for easier parts selection and a more efficient kitting process.

PURCHASING AGENT/ MATERIALS MANAGER

Sole Purchasing Agent for the Interior Signs/Display Division.

My responsibilities included: selection, qualification, and approval of all vendors relevent to manufacturing; I performed on-site vendor inspections; sourced, priced, purchased, tracked, and expedited all raw materials; Submitted RFQ’s to suppliers and manufacturers thoughout the USA and off-shore; Processed vendor returns; Supervised kit assembly, inventory control, facilities maintenance, the manufacturing stockroom, and shipping and receiving that included 8 to 12 employees; interviewed, hired, trained, developed, scheduled, assigned job duties, wrote employee evaluations and terminated said employees.

I coordinated purchasing for the manufacturing plants in Hurricane, Utah; Gulfport, MS; Las Vegas, NV and for 12 Service/Install Centers across the country.

I also provided purchasing support to Mikohn’s Sales Staff and to their manufacturing facilities in Lima, Peru; Sydney, Australia; and Amsterdam, The Netherlands…

CUSTOMER SERVICE:

I interacted daily with customers across the country and overseas to assist in determining which replacement parts were required to keep their interior casino displays, signage and machines fully functional, quoting costs, and delivery schedules. I confirmed and expedited selection, and ensured rapid, time sensitive delivery.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

I implemented purchasing and inventory procedures; reorganized the parts department into a more efficient stockroom ; Reorganized the outdated shipping department to include better, more protective materials and introduced foam-in-place packaging to reduce damage during shipping. I returned or sold obsolete parts to vendors or third parties to minimize loss; Assisted with implementing and developing a parts numbering system with the IT Department to better control inventory; Established excellent relationships and partnerships with all suppliers and negotiated cost reduction to achieve or maintain lower costs and JIT delivery; Trained my staff to work quickly and efficiently without compromising their responsibilities in a successful effort to reduce costs and waste.
