PROJECT SUMMARY

Major Project: - Voice Recognition and Language Translation

Description: The inherent efficiency of communication lies in the participants’ ability to understand the information being transmitted by the conveyer. Sometimes, the participating entities might not concur when it comes to the mode of communication used by the other. Such situations bring forth the need for a medium that does the job of translation for the other entity. This medium, a translator, has been developed in the form of this application. This translator converts English to Hindi text using a pre-defined vocabulary generated by tech giants, Amazon and Google. This application takes in an English audio as input and displays its corresponding English and Hindi text.

Responsibilities included:

Created an interactive User Interface using Eclipse

Linked Amazon S3 services to the application and ensured data security throughout the process

Using Amazon Transcribe, converted the input into a JSON file and obtained the same through the application to display on the screen

Using Google Translate, converted the given input text into Hindi (chosen language)

Obtained the translation and displayed the same in the interface

Technology used: Eclipse, Amazon S3, Amazon Transcribe, Google Translate, Java, JavaScript, HTML, XML, Web Services, SQL Server.
