Worked as Area Project Engineer (ParaXylene) on SATORP (Saudi Aramco and Total Ref. & Petrochemical Project). The largest Refinery & Petrochemical project in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, with Total Project Cost of ~$9.8B. As the Team Lead of the PX Unit, I was responsible to oversee FEED and detail Engineering by Samsung Korea, provide construction updates, coordinate interface project completion, Pre-commissioning / commissioning, managed the construction schedule, and coordinated with contractors, sub-contractors.

Worked as Area Project Engineer with WorleyParsons, UAE on IDG-GASCO Habashan-5 Project. Project capacity of 1000 MMCFD of gas with the Total Project Cost $4.9B. Stationed at JGC office Yokohama, Japan. Lead the project team & performed the responsibilities in place of Engineering Manager. Managed Technical Queries, P&IDs review, and preparation of monthly & weekly reports.

Amec FW / Woods Group, London, UK May 14 - Apr 15

With AmecFW worked as Principal Project Engineer on KNPC (Kuwait National Petroleum Co) clean fuel refinery project. I was based in Yokohama, Japan at JGC office overseeing design and detail engineering by JGC.

Responsible for RFIs, detail design and project engineering coordination with ALL the disciplines, AmecFW & KNPC Kuwait office core team.

Bantrel Company, Calgary, CANADA Jul 12 – Jun 13

Worked as Senior Project Engineer, on SUNCOR Energy Voyageur DCU Project Total Project Cost ~$12B.

Lead and managed the Engineering team.

Organized and Participated HAZOP and SIL review of the new feed stock, responsible for closeout of parking lot and HAZOP action items.

Manage interface coordination, implementation of RFIs, TDNs/CDN, TQR's/PQR's, NOCs, CWP/MWPs.

Issue monthly & weekly engineering progress reports, Managing and supporting the disciplines.

Coordinate with the client, and ensure the project schedule is on track.

SATORP (Saudi-ARAMCO Total Refinery & Petrochemical) Jubail, Saudi Arabia Jul 11 - Jul 12

I was Area Project Engineer (ParaXylene) at SATORP (a joint venture project of Saudi Aramco and Total) in Jubail-2, Saudi Arabia. Total Project Cost $ 9.8B.

Team Leader of the PX Area, coordinating with Samsung to oversee Feed and Detail Engineering.

Responsible and managing construction update per schedule. Looking after the project completion.

Managed Interface coordination, oversee and management of vendor documents.

Coordinate with contractors, sub-contractors, review overdue documents, TQs, RFIs etc.

WorleyParsons, Calgary & Arabia - UAE Apr 08 – Jan 11

I worked as Project Coordinator & Area Project Engineer with WP Calgary / UAE, on Suncor Firebag-3 Wellpads & GL and IDG-GASCO Habashan-5 Project. GASCO is the largest Project with the gas production capacity of 1000 MMCFD, with Total Project Cost $4.9B.

I was stationed in JGC Project office at Yokohama, JAPAN. Lead and managed the project team, and performed the responsibilities in place of Engineering Manager.

Responsible for Technical Queries, DCAs, TBEs, P&IDs review, compliance with the NCRs and the RFIs.

Issued monthly & weekly engineering progress reports.

Managed and coordinated detailed Engineering design, preparation & review of scope P&IDs & system drawings, identification of engineering deliverables.

Lead & maintained good working relationships with the Client, project team and disciplines. Closing out the overdue documents, working and supporting the Engineering team, coordinated with the Contractors/other Client Engineering offices, project development.

Participated in developing the turnover packages/procedures with respect to the Suncor procedures.

SNC-Lavalin Calgary, Canada Sep 06 - Feb 08

As Senior Engineering Specialist with SNC Lavalin on their Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) Secondary upgrading (SUG) joint venture (SNC-Lavalin /Snamprogetti) project.

Preparation and review of Scope of Work (SOW) verifications, review and manage technical documentation i.e. TBE’s.

Review and update of CWPs, signing off the MRB (Manufacturer Record Books) with all details for CNRL Project. Issue updated Engineering and Procurement deliverable reports with the Clients and Supplier.

Assist Project Manager with correspondence with Company, Customer & Vendor, and other organizations. Coordinate with the discipline leads and client. Updating and follow up with the Client, Vendor and Supplier for the 2-years spare parts. Lead and issue monthly & weekly progress reports.

IBN RUSHD, Petrochemical Complex (SABIC) Yanbu, Saudi Arabia Apr 97- Jun 04

As Sr. Project Engineer / Plant Superintendent, the responsibilities included:

To manage ongoing project by keeping track of daily progress and associated costs, and implementing cost-control measures to ensure projects are completed as per AFE costs.

Participated in FEED review and its associated Offsite plants, remained involved with contractor; supervised and coordinated overall planning, control and appraisal of the project; planed to adjust unanticipated changes in scope, materials, equipment delivery and cost, as defined by the approved scope.

Reviewed P&IDs and PFDs and preliminary hydraulics, equipment data sheets.

Process/Production & Operation Engineer; responsibilities were as:

Optimizing operating condition and process variables to increase the yield and production, revamp of PVC plant to improve the throughput and also on Material /Energy conservation measures. Material & mass balance to minimize the losses of PVC plant. Process engineering support for plant modifications and optimization. Erection and commissioning of the PVC Product Handling unit of PVC Expansion Project (Uhde GmbH) from the erection commissioning & till the unit startup.

Identifying equipment requiring revamps, preparation of equipment lists & equipment specifications, contact with process licensor (Uhde GmbH Germany) PVC paste expansion and technology assistance support to project engineers for cost estimation of the Expansion Project.

From July 1992 till July 1994, I was transferred to Material Warehouse to look after all the Operational and Laboratory chemicals, catalysts, lubricants, and gases etc. The entire warehouse was working with CMMS (Central Material Management System).
