Role Team Member
Project Description
This project is to enhance the refunding services provided by Liberty Mutual CBS to the policyholder who have paid their amounts in excess of their dues. The CBS application had provided for refunds only as checks. Moreover, the rules to determine the refund eligibility were hardcoded in the mainframe COBOL programs. This project aimed to remove both deficiencies by giving the refunds through EFT and Credit/Debit cards when possible. Also the rules are written in a spreadsheet so that they can be modified by business without having the need to change the programs. This was implemented using DROOLS technique. A Webservice was defined to implement the refund eligibility rules and to determine the refund method by interacting with the CBS database. The CBS batch application interacted with this Webservice through the CICS gateway.

Role Team Member
Project Description
For Claims Mainframe applications most of the information is coming from SOCS systems only. SOCS stands for Service Office Claims Systems, which is a midrange AS/400 System. The Claim details are entered in SOCS systems, which, then after their validation process are sent across to 5.3 Claims i.e. Mainframe. It happens every day around 4.30pm. The upload process from SOCS normally takes about 2 hours to complete. This information is processed along with PIF files in the Base applications and both PIF files and the loss records are updated. 90% of the entire process is automated. But in very few cases loss is attached to a policy manually in Claims. There are certain jobs running during the cycle to check & match the loss records. Claims that are entered in the mainframes are processed in 5.3 systems and then downloaded to SOCS to update their systems.
Role and Responsibilities
1.Level-1 production Support.
2.Monitor the upload and download Jobs.
