PROJECTS
Optimization of Fuel Efficiency of Trucks in Traffic Jams Aug-Dec 2018
●The subsystems of a truck powered by an IC engine and a hybrid system were modelled in order to find the parameters that can be optimized to minimize the amount of fuel consumed by trucks in traffic jams
●The first phase involves the minimization of fuel consumption of a truck powered only by an IC engine in traffic jams
●The second phase employs the ECMS algorithm in which the truck is powered by a hybrid system in traffic jams
●Tools Used: MATLAB
Conceptual Modelling: Aug-Dec 2018
●Used various tools and techniques to design and model cars, helicopters, airplanes etc and rendered them in their specific environment.
●Tools Used: AutoCAD Fusion 360
Optimization of material usage of a cylindrical can Aug-Sep 2018
●Developed an algorithm in order to minimize the surface area of a cylindrical can to obtain the optimum radius for a given standard volume
●Made sure that the results obtained matched with the standard North American coke can dimensions
●Tools Used: MATLAB and Excel
Mechanical Behavior of EN45 Spring steel subjected to various heat treatment processes Jan- May 2016
●EN 45, a spring steel mainly used in automobiles, was treated with various heat treatment processes and compared the change in its mechanical properties
●Conducted an extensive literature survey on EN45 spring steel by referring to various journals
●Finally, the heat treatment technique which produced a high impact and fatigue strength was recommended for its use in heavy vehicles
●Tools Used: ANSYS
Design of Multi Nut Tightener and Loosener in Wheels of Automobiles Jan-May 2015
●Devised a technique that enables users to tighten or loosen all the nuts or bolts from the wheels of automobiles at the same time
●Performed a detailed analysis and observation of the use of planetary gear system in enabling easy handling of nuts and bolts
●Tools Used: AutoCAD
