Beep

Text Message Base Ride Sharing

Beep was a 3-man collaborate project, with a goal to bring a text message-based ride sharing platform for my college campus.

Noticed a problem, there was no dedicated ride sharing application for the student body. Students used a Facebook Page previously.

The main goal of beep was to act as an intermediary between riders and drivers and facilitate the transition. A rider would text a predetermined number and would be assigned a rider.

Riders and Drivers were stored in MongoDB queries and were matched based on a first in first out system

The application was developed using Bandwidth API calls paired with JavaScript and NodeJS.

Development was organized using Trello and further communication about the project was done through slack; the project is currently hosted on AWS.

Local media database

My little sister loves watching television shows and is constantly telling me something new to watch, so I decided to make a local http sever for her to store shows she wants me to watch

Development was done in Java using intellij as an IDE, and Spring Boot to handle the HTTP request.

Data is stored in a Hash math, taking an integer for the key and an object type named “movie the value; the movie object is composed of strings and integers for fields while getters are used to retrieve data.

The sever is hosted on our home local host and has GET, POST, and PUT functionality.

Data can be sent through json files and in turn be stored on a non-relational data base like MongoDB.
