PROJECTS

Canada Job Search and Analysis System (BigData)

Made of a search engine and data mining and my responsibility is to analyze the data fetched from Canadian job website like Indeed.com.

Build a HDFS cluster to storage the data and use Spark as the distributed computing engine, specifically by using SparkSQL to execute some queries on the data.

Then use Google Chart to show the analysis result on the website. E.g. the top 10 programing languages to find a job in Toronto.

Windsor Carpool System (Java Web)

University of Windsor, Windsor, Ontario (based on course 60-611)

Utilize Java and HTML, CSS, JavaScript application to develop strong skills while creating an integrated Windsor Carpool System, especially using the popular framework like SpringMVC, Spring and MyBatis to build the system practically, and the backend database was done in MySQL. (The key point is Transaction Control)

Coordinate with a team of three students on two different user-authority assignments (Passenger, Driver), ensuring projects were completed on time and exceeded faculty requirements.

Hadoop Distributed Media Transcoding System

Zhejiang University of Media and Communication, China

Build up a real environmental Hadoop clusters and optimize according to project requirements, e.g. HDFS file block size is determined by the Ethernet transmission rate and processing rate.

Run Java MapReduce program on Hadoop platform to implement video transcoding function decreasing the processing time.
