PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Sr Consultant for State of Wisconsin – CARES project Mar 2017 - July 2018

Supported application CARES (Client Assistance for Re-employment and Economic Support) for the State of Wisconsin.

Developed components for new releases of the software - COBOL CICS, IMS and DB2 programs calling subroutines and stored procedures, JCL jobstreams using SORT and MVS utilities. SQL queries, SAS and Easytrieve. Development and enhancements were performed in a z/OS Changeman environment using TSO, ORACLE, Java front end, SPUFI, DB2 Studio, JIRA, JAMA, Platinum.

Worked with the Business Unit to identify and fix JIRA defects; performed data changes and production fixes.

Data was entered in a Web server and processed by Java stored procedures which populate DB2 and Oracle tables; the COBOL programs and subroutines access, update and process data from those tables creating the output necessary for CARES.

Methodologies used were Waterfall and Agile. Production support was provided on a rotation basis.

Worked as a Sr. Developer in the Mainframe CICS/DB2 and Oracle/Unix group for the CIS (Customer Information System)

application Development and Support team. The project involved analysis, enhancements and new development for a Utilities billing system, order, inventory and invoicing applications and pertaining interfaces written in COBOL, SQL, IBM Assembler, CICS,

Investigated existing code and DB2 queries and proposed technical solutions for performance tuning – created impact

analysis documentation, worked with the DBA and Business Unit to approve the changes, coded, tested and implemented the modification and supported in production. Jobstreams use CA and BMC loads and unloads, SORT and mainframe utilities, Ftp procs. DB2 tools were Optim and SPUFI. Files created for vendors were transferred to a Windows directory via FTP jobs and from there eftp’ed to vendors. Eftp recently implemented; other utilities used: File Manager and TSO, mainframe utilities; Oracle11g, ERWIN.

Responsible for project involving static and dynamic Load Balancing for Utilities metered and non- metered billing.

Customer accounts were broken into partitions by their account numbers and Billing was processed in parallel for

all ranges. COBOL programs, ftp jobs and JCL was modified. Responsible for conversion project from Ftp to Eftp.

Responsible for archiving rows in the DB2 table which were over 10 years old – designing and implementing archiving jobs to

run on schedule and clean up the database from old/obsolete rows determined by requirements from the Business Unit. Performed production support from home and office on a scheduled basis.

Support team. The project involved COBOL CICS/DB2 program changes – CICS Transaction Gateway, Oracle/Unix script changes, SPUFI queries, PL/SQL queries, SAS and Easytrieve program changes.

Worked with the Business Unit to identify and fix ALM defects; performed data changes and production fixes for Invoicing,
