To whom it may concern:

I had the pleasure of working with Ms. Jacqueline Francis at AltaLink Management Limited for close to three years between 2015 to 2017, where she provided high-quality support as an Administrative Assistant. During this period, Ms. Francis successfully took on several key administrative duties for both the AltaLink Indigenous Relations and Stakeholder Consultation teams. These included quality assurance checks of bi-weekly staff timesheets, third-party consultant invoicing, planning, logistical support and accommodations, and direct assistance for AltaLink’s Indigenous Relations Manager and Senior Advisors. She also worked closely with consultants hired by AltaLink to manage Indigenous relations and issues regarding company transmission projects, handling expenditures and administrative details. Ms. Francis also supported development of Indigenous consultation records for both AltaLink’s submissions to the Alberta government’s Aboriginal Consultation Office and regulatory transmission projects filed with the Alberta Utilities Commission. Through these duties, Ms. Francis demonstrated a keen attention to detail, coordination skills, and the ability to follow-up when further information was required. I am confident in Ms. Francis’ abilities to take on a similar and enhanced array of administrative duties for any organization she works for and to excel in such responsibilities.

Another key focal area of Ms. Francis’ responsibilities with AltaLink was in community, stakeholder and Indigenous relations and outreach. She served ably on AltaLink’s selection committee for Indigenous Student Awards, helping to choose successful First Nations and Metis scholarship recipients for yearly bursaries supported by AltaLink’s community funding initiatives. She also supported AltaLink’s sponsorship of the biennial Alberta Indigenous Games in both 2015 and 2017, working closely with event organizers, administering funding agreements, and staffing Games events. As well, Ms. Francis was instrumental in ensuring the launch of the ONEXONE organization’s First Nations School Breakfast Program in Alberta. A total of $50,000 in AltaLink funding helped hundreds of children in two Edmonton-area First Nations schools benefit from nutritional breakfasts and greater academic success as a result of this program. Ms. Francis worked closely with ONEXONE representatives and school officials to ensure the smooth launch of the program and administer AltaLink’s funding contribution for this initiative.

In closing, I believe Ms. Francis’ achievements at AltaLink and overall career experiences and skill-set makes her a valuable asset for any organization.

Sincerely,

Lorne Fidgette
