ED II KIDSPEACE 08/2016-10/2016
At Kids peace I worked with young child with behavioral, physical and mental disabilities, I worked in a school where we rotated every two hours to new children to help teach them new skills and improve the skills they currently had. I would go to the resident’s hall every morning and help them with their morning route, then transition to breakfast, than to school, we completed school work as well as extra free time when needed, we would often have to put the children in safety holds to keep them from hurting themselves or others when they became upset. We transitioned for both lunch and back to the unit when school was over, we provided sensory time and items to these children to help them better engage in school. I would document after school and attend meetings when required.
