Throughout career, involved in all aspects of power generation, including new construction and installation of numerous types of equipment inside and outside of fossil fueled and gas fired power plants.

Superintendent involved in the construction of 4 new combined cycle power plants, from site preparation to units ready for commercial operation.

Construction Manager

TVA New Johnsonville, Co-Gen Project. Perform construction manager duties during the construction of a Nooter Erickson HRSG to an existing G.E. 7EA CT. and two Foster Wheeler Aux. Boilers, the construction of a transfer pump house with 2 pumps and two air compressors and all below and above ground piping and valves. Installed two new transformers for the addition of two new substations. In addition to the transformer installation we also replaced the existing bus duct on two other transformer along with 3 bushing replacements. In addition to that construction there was also a forwarding pump house with all piping and valves from the existing Demin tank. Oversight of all mechanical activities including all underground piping, gas, water, air and fire protection and potable water. Oversight of the installation from ground up construction of the Auxiliary Equipment Building containing 3 Boiler feed pumps, two main air compressors a Chemical sample table and all associated piping valves. After completion of construction assisted with the startup and turnover team to perform group walk downs, equipment testing and work package reviews for turnover to the plant for commissioning of the units. The supervision of the craft included boilermakers, pipefitters, operators, ironworkers and support craft. During the final phases of construction, I also managed the replacement of all bus duct for U-19 and U-20. In addition to demo of the existing plenum, exhaust duct and stack on U-11 and U-3 and the reinstallation of new plenum and exhaust duct and stack for the same units.

Owners Rep./Site Lead

Dominion Energy, Chesterfield Station. Perform contractor oversight for the overhaul of a VOGT HRSG including a performance efficiency upgrade, replaced 20 low pressure harps and modified the LP doghouse. Removed and replaced superheat and reheat harps and reinstalled modified harps for each system, also replaced 3 rows of HP evaporator harps. The scope included a new HP modified floor section and new modified HP doghouse.

Breen Energy Solutions

Site Manager at Indiana University steam plant, managing the demolition of two existing environmental systems, one ACI system and one DSI system which were no longer operational. Installing two new complete injection systems, ACI/DSI including all major components, control systems and integration to existing operating software. Managed installation of all new piping and operating valve systems. Managed start up and training of plant personnel.

Owners Rep. / Outage Co-coordinator at Prairie State Generating Company, performing contractor oversight on two outages on twin 900 MW coal fired units. The work included but was not limited to, major tube replacement in the superheat platen section, burner modifications and repairs, complete water wall inspection and other miscellaneous tube replacements. The replacement of two layers of catalyst from both reactors and both units and the installation of one layer in each reactor. The overhaul of two pulverizers and numerous repairs to the other ten. The replacement of numerous valves throughout the power block as well as rebuilding eight recycle pump suction valves.

National Steel City

Superintendent at Plant Gorgas, supervising craft employees during ground up construction of a B&W Baghouse and associated ductwork, including all boiler outlet duct gas to Baghouse inlet duct, all exhaust duct gas from baghouse outlet duct to booster fan inlet ducts, including installation of two booster fans and booster out fan exhaust duct to a dual unit scrubber.

Breen Energy Solutions

Site Manager at numerous power plants, Oak Grove Station, Crystal River Station, Stanton Electric Generating, Plant Bowen, Plant Hammond, Belews Creek Station, Mobilize, demobilize, and manage the installation, demobilization and day-to-day operations of temporary sorbent Injection at coal fired plants to reduce pollutants; S03 and acid reduction as emitted from the stacks.

Site Manager at the NRG SOMERSET GENERATING STATION, for a complete rebuild and re-tube of auxiliary boiler, including casing removal and replacement, and removal and replacement of 624 steam drum to mud drum tubes.

Site Manager at the OSWEGO GENERATING STATION, for a complete overhaul and re-tube of a Westinghouse 800 megawatt steam condenser, including tube removal and replacement, and major internal repairs. Managed the demolition and installation of and all new waste transport system.

Lead Superintendent at NRG INDIAN RIVER OPERATIONS, for boilermakers performing condenser tube replacement.

Superintendent at AMEREN ENERGY COFFEEN STATION for boilermakers and pipefitters on back-to-back two week Boiler Outages on two B&W boilers, performing tube replacements in cyclones, water walls, reheat and superheat pendants. Repaired GR duct and GT duct cracks, replaced GR duct inlet dampers and scroll liners, repaired penthouse roof and slag tanks.

megawatt steam turbine generator. Unit consisted of H.P. - I.P. and two dual flow L.P. rotors.

Owners Site Representative at the COMMONWEALTH EDISON JOLIET STATION 29 in the overhaul of electro static

precipitator, and the overhaul of three Lungstrom air preheaters.

Owners Site Representative on numerous construction projects throughout the COMMONWEALTH EDISON Fossil System.
