Managing / forecasting all financial reports. Drilled HPHT and GeoThermal wells in Java. The GeoThermal wells were Kicked-Off using low cost jetting techniques.

Mar ‘06 – Oct ‘06 K & M Technology Group

Drilling Engineer & Lead ERD Advisor

In this position I prepared engineering studies to evaluate the risks involved in ERD Drilling. In particular the specialist requirements of Torque and Drag, casing design, hydraulics with special attention to ECDs at shallow TVDs, hole cleaning and client specific ERD schools. I was also present on the rig to monitor and supervise these issues ERD wells in the GOM, Alsaka, Wytch Farm and offshore Holland. I also taught 5 day ERD Drilling Engineering schools in Europe, Australia and the USA.

2004 – March 2006 Sperry-Sun Brunei

Country Manager

In this position I was responsible for all Sperry Sun operations in Brunei. This included overall financial accountability on a $35MM annual contract, as well as building and managing a new R & M facility for the Sperry Sun contract with Shell in Brunei for 5 rigs. This was a level 2 workshop, specifically to service the GeoPilot fleet. Most offshore wells were 6-8km reach ERD requiring detailed planning and execution and as such I was heavily involved in this engineering.

2003 – 2004 Sperry-Sun Gabon

Operations Coordinator

In this position I was responsible for all aspects of a tactical West African start up to win and operate Directional and LWD contract, mainly for Total Offshore. I was part of a West Africa team which tendered and won DD/LWD contracts from Angola to Equatorial Guinea. This starts from the initial tendering of the work, well design, engineering, programme writing, equipment logistics and personnel planning. The engineering includes, designing BHA characteristics, Torque and Drag and hydraulics. All critically important for the ERD nature of the 5km reach wells. I was also involved in ERD projects in Cameroun and Nkossa, offshore Congo with 9km reach wells. I supervised 4 Deepwater wells which were drilled in this time in Angola and Equatorial Guinea. At the same time I oversaw the R & M facility and implemented the HSE and Quality systems to maintain a successful level of service. After the well is complete, I invoiced the completed work with SAP and close out any Service Interrupts which occurred.

2001– 2003 Sperry-Sun Algeria

Operations Coordinator

In this position I was responsible for all aspects of Directional Drilling and LWD services in a very hard, abrasive reservoir for a National Oil Company and several IOCs including BP, Anadarko, Agip, Rhepsol, BHP and Burlington. During my time in Algeria the business was grown from 2 rigs to a maximum of 11 rigs all drilling horizontal wells in 2003. Most wells were designed for a 2-3km reach. As well as coping with a demanding customer in a difficult drilling environment, I was part of a team who succeeded in growing the business and developing a new 1200m R & M facility. This involved developing new High Speed motors for the newest generation of Diamond Impregnated bits as well as new motors for Short Radius re-entries. Since we supplied the bits for these contracts, we had to competitively tender the bit contract and financial success of the project was highly dependent on developing these bits and ensuring the most effective bit was used for the application. During this period I was part of a Sperry Team which managed a rig for the NOC. This included supplying all engineering and rig supervision. At this time, the fastest horizontal wells were drilled in Hassi Messaoud. When I arrived horizontal wells were averaging 120 days and when I left, the average was 68, but 2 of the Sperry Sun managed wells were below 55 days. I was also part of a dedicated team with BHP drilling a 3km reach with a sinusoidal wellpath. The well had to be carefully designed with regards to hole cleaning, tortuosity, buckling and Torque and Drag, since a completion with 5 ECPs was to be run. This entailed detailed planning for over a year and 12 weeks in Algeria at the time of drilling.

1998 -2001 Sperry-Sun Australia

Directional Drilling Coordinator

In my first year in Australia I worked in the field, primarily for

Woodside Energy LTD, drilling horizontal wells in the Timor Sea and on the Goodwyn A Platform. The 3 Goodwyn wells I was a DD on, were 7-9km ERD wells, with no rotary steerable system, with one of them setting the world record for offshore ERD drilling with a TD over 9km reach. I then moved into the Woodside Office, as the In House Sperry Sun coordinator. There I managed all well planning, logistics, engineering, HSE and personnel issues. At this point I became more involved with KPIs, Technical Limit Drilling, Drilling on Paper and many of the planning tools which most operators use today. At the end of the Goodwyn contract I started taking care of Sperry DD operations in Perth, running up to 7 rigs in Australia, PNG and New Zealand, for Apache, BHP, WAPET, Inpex, Japex and Santos. I also did upfront engineering work for an 11km reach ERD well in Sakhalin and visited the rig twice when they well was drilled.

1993 – 1997 Baker Hughes Inteq Oman

Directional Drilling Supervisor

With a Live – In position in Oman, I drilled primarily Medium Radius horizontal wells for PDO and Short Radius wells for Occidental. The work was varied ranging from shallow Jetted Kick Offs, to deep hard rock drilling. I was assigned for one year to one project, Saih Rawl, where PDO crossed the field with dual lateral water injectors at one TVD and then tri and dual lateral producers at a shallower TVD. This project was the first in Oman to successfully utilize multilaterals and was a great commercial success. In my time in Oman I drilled 366 wells, most of them horizontal ERD style wells. This was often done with a Kelly and a double rig, showing that long ERD wells don’t need the best hi-spec rigs, but careful planning and management. I also drilled several wells in Abu Dhabi with shallow Jetting techniques, the norm for Kicking Off. At the end of this project I worked on a Work Over / coiled tubing unit doing slim hole, short radius re-entries. This entailed fishing old completions, setting whipstocks then drilling the new well.

1990 – 1993 Teleco / Baker Hughes Inteq

MWD Engineer

I operated all services including full Nuclear LWD Services in

Europe and Africa, for Shell, PDO, Chevron, BP, Total and Agip. This entailed full petrophysical modeling of the LWD data and its presentation.

1989 – 1990 Eastman Christensen

Wellbore Surveyor

I operated gyros, multishots, singleshots, steering tools and the Ferranti Survey tool in the North Sea.

1988 – 1989 Anadrill Schlumburger

Data/MWD Engineer

This was my first job in the oilfield working with basic Directional and Gamma Ray MWD in the North Sea.
