Logistics Development Manager

Reporting to the Vice President of Logistics. Manages all company owned and third party remote terminal operations involved with the storage, transloading, shipping and distribution of BMC products. Logistics Manager

Director of Distribution (1995 - 1999)

Reporting to the President. Newly created position responsible for facilities management as well as all duties of Distribution Manager position. Directs a staff of 10 managers, over 70 packaging/distribution personnel and a budget of $2.5 million.

Streamlined operations; reduced expenses from 12.18% to 11.02% of sales which represented annual operating savings of over $300,000.

Led two major construction projects which increased capacity to accommodate single year’s growth of 23% in shipping and a 55% increase in packaging. Increased capacity of two distribution centers by 50% each.

Responsible for planning, organizing and directing all distribution operations for four regional centers nationwide.

Directs an Assistant Manager, two supervisors, two technical professionals, 38 hourly employees and a budget of $1.5 million.

Designed, launched and managed carrier performance program which elevated average performance from 65% to 92%.

Coordinated cost control strategies in overtime reduction, technology and space utilization that resulted in annual savings of $210,000.

Responsible for directing all inventory control activities for five locations. Supervises order processing, customer service and data entry.

Implemented inventory control procedures which achieved average monthly variance of .14% on a 2.5 million case finished goods inventory. Maintained inventory accuracy at levels above 99.5%.
