Led LSS Kaizen event utilizing LSS DMAIC principles which reduced total cost for rejected disrupted customer pallets from ~$100K to <$10K annually and reinstated customer confidence in products shipped from manufacturing facility.

Conducted audit of 3 glass manufacturing plants and customer’s production line for manufacturing best practices and by providing subsequent assistance, successfully qualified 3 supplying plants with a defect rate of <0.0006%. Qualification helped solidify 3 year contract to supply 275M – 288M containers per year.

Collaborated with manufacturing and major US spirits customer stakeholders on a LSS Kaizen event team which decreased breakage defects to <.005% with an overall daily production increase of >8% resulting in building the customer’s confidence with the container.

Area Packaging Quality Engineer (APQE) service visit functions to satisfy customer demands for routine and emergency quality visits.

Product Handling Engineer 1999 – 2003

Provided business value added engineering support to company and licensee glass manufacturing facilities for product handling functions. Researched, developed, designed, installed and maintained: glass manufacturing cold end processing equipment.

Managed a $1.5 M project to design and install 3 PSL labeling lines at 3 different glass manufacturing locations within budget and a deadline established to accommodate scheduled nationwide rollout of a major US beer customer’s product.

Coordinated a $3.5M project to recommend, purchase, install and start-up an Applied Ceramic Labeling (ACL), line. Equipment included 5 ACL, 200 BPM machines,

and 3 specialized glass decoration annealing lehrs along with bottle, case and bulk packaging units.

Decorating Service Engineer 1991 – 1999

Provide engineering support to domestic and international glass container facilities. Including the installation, start-up and commissioning of labeling machines and processes. Develop training modules for various decorating machines and processes.

Improved the roll fed labeling application process to apply a shrink belly band label to the iconic Coca-Cola glass bottle. Increasing the value of pre-labeled glass container for the customer
