PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
DVC Thermal Powerplant, Durgapur, India, Summer intern May 2015-July 2015
• Worked under Assistant Engineer to supervise coal feeding process for a 80 MW unit
• Submitted a report on monthly Coal requirement, total energy production and thermal efficiency of the above- mentioned unit
TATA Motors, Kolkata, India; Quality Engineering Intern May/2014 – July/2014
• Tested and documented engine performance of repaired Vehicles and provided weekly reports to supervisor ACADEMIC PROJECTS
1. Design of an Automotive Cooling System for a four stroke four-cylinder Diesel Engine
• Designed a circulatory water-cooling system for a four stroke four-cylinder diesel engine present at the Automobile Laboratory of Future Institute of Engineering and Management
• Based on the heat load data from the actual engine, made a working model of the engine cooling system that had a temperature drop of 9 degree Celsius across the radiator 2.ANSYS Fluent simulation of a downflow single pass air-cooled automotive radiator
• Used AutoCAD to make a model of the radiator and used ANSYS FLUENT to run simulation based on data obtained from previous project
• Executed comparison of performance analysis of the model with the actual cooling system designed in previous project
3.Wind energy assessment using VVP retrieval method and Wind-farm proposal
• Wrote Volume Velocity Processing (VVP) retrieval algorithm to a prospective wind farm
• Produced velocity PDFs to select turbines with compatible power curves
• Made a business model based on estimated capacity of the virtual wind farm and did economic analysis to propose for funding from potential investors
4.Investigation of thermal properties and optical properties of a Non-Newtonian Fluid for solar application
• Made a glazed flat-plate solar collector to collect solar energy to supply to a Non-Newtonian fluid (Oobelck)
• Used MATLAB to analyze the data obtained for the disturbed and undisturbed cases for several runs of experiment and made a regression fit to the data to relate incoming solar radiation and temperature rise assuming the relation to be linear
5.Statistical Signal detection algorithm for a LiDAR
• Wrote a signal detection algorithm for a prototype LiDAR considering Gaussian-white thermal and Poisson-white shot noise to be present in the signal
• Applied the detection algorithm on low frequency signal generated by an ADC (Analog to Digital Converter) present in the Environmental Remote Sensing research group at ASU OTHER WORK EXPERIENCE
