Manager Quality, Engineer I

Led and managed the York Site Machining Quality Team by maintaining quality compliance for all York Weld Fabrication and Machining Laser Scan/Tracker Inspections. Led Physical Configuration Audit (PCA) of AAVFOV at BAE/Stafford and VSE/Ladysmith, Virginia sites. Provided Engineering Quality Assurance by analyzing, verifying, and forwarding marked up drawings and completed Inspection Assessments to the BAE Stafford office and to customers. Provided direction to DCMA Government personnel on utilizing inspection tools, interpret GD&T drawings and measurement methods. Act as a liaison between DCMA Government inspectors, VSE Corporation and BAE Systems to facilitate drawing installations, inspection plans, and feedback results to each staff. • Lead customer "Lunch & Learn" programs by inviting new industry technologies onsite for presentations to help innovate manufacturing strategies.

• Developed and implemented $620k worth of Capital Expenditure Authorizations by implementing new technologies to the York Quality/Manufacturing areas based on budget planning and forecasting.

• Redesigned and prototyped manipulator arm to install and/or remove a Bulk Head door for the MMPV Vehicle which reduced the cost of the original design from $125k to $15k by successfully implementing a new design and build.

• Developed a process and procedure to remove large quantities of armored steel from built MRAP Vehicles around the Tow Pintles, originally missed by manufacturing. By collaborating with a unique supplier with cutting product capabilities and tool recommendations, rework costs were greatly reduced from 4 hours per vehicle to 1 hour per vehicle. The new process and necessary tooling were shipped to all depots that had vehicles with the condition (approx. 2,500 vehicles).

Laser Inspection Manager

Lead all FARO Laser Tracking/Scanning, First Article Inspection activities for all Legacy, New Build, and Tooling configurations, Engineering Analysis, and Volumetric Reporting. Presented and compiled deliverable data to all internal and external customers while serving as the site technical lead for updates on inspection technologies. Oversaw all aspects of Laser Tracker/Scan tooling prove outs on MRAP, GCV, Bradley, SOCOM, Panther, PIM, HIMARS, M88 families of vehicles, as well as VLS Decks, Plenums, Parts, and Prototypes. Providing GD&T inspection reports and evaluations to internal and external customers. Created and developed Volumetric Work Instructions for all production machining centers. Updated all files and stored all data on company network drives for future use, ISO auditing and Government audits.

• Created and executed yearly Capital Expenditures in order to implement new Technology for improvement by researching cost analysis and providing make-buy purchase data.

• Enhanced the Laser Tracker process, from 8 hours with the utilization of 3 workers to a new process requiring 3 hours with one worker.

• Edited the CNC program for 40% faster cycle.

Calibration Lab Manager

Lead/Manage the York Site Gage Calibration Lab, responsible for scheduling calibration of Tooling Gages and Equipment across 40 plus cost centers and 5 other BAE sites. Manage Quality Engineers and Bargaining Unit Precision Measurement Technicians.

Sr. Process/Product Design Engineer, 2000-2001 FCI-Frametome, York, PA Interfaced as a technical liaison with offshore manufacturing plants for production support and quality control of 38999 circular connectors, which included territories in the Dominican Republic and France. Traveled to Czech Republic to build cables on site for customers in a “Down Situation” regarding a 21 aircrafts on tarmac and grounded due to faulty cables. Hand built and trained onsite personnel regarding proper stripping and crimping techniques to the customer’s satisfaction.
