CTO/Director, Technology and Systems Operations

Recruited to developed new technology and methodologies enterprise-wide for all GWP Holdings LLC family of companies, Western Peterbilt and Western Truck Center while leading the IT Team; production operations, services and support, desktop, telecommunications, networks, servers, and data centers. This included budgetary planning, hiring, staff development & succession planning responsibilities. Recruited to develop new and manage existing technologies and methodologies enterprise-wide (512 locations), spanning production operations, services and support, project management, data centers, network services, telecommunications and IS security operations, business continuity planning (BCP) and disaster recovery (DR), budgeting, hiring, staff development and succession planning. Managed $55M+ operations and $15M+ capital expenditures budgets and team of 400.

Implemented first medical grade WAN providing 99.9999% availability and reduced circuit expense by $9M.

Reduced operational run rate by $10M annually.

Designed new organizational structure and integrated 24 teams from 9 individual IS organizations into one cohesive team spanning 5 states and 2 time-zones; completed integration in less than 120 days.

BEA Systems/Oracle, Reno, NV, 2006 – 2009

Sr. Director, Worldwide IT Operations

Brought in to BEA Systems to develop and direct first enterprise-wide Engineering IT organization, including distributed and centralized hardware. Responsibilities expanded significantly during and after Oracle acquisition to comprise management of multi-disciplined worldwide IT group; setting strategic vision and defining technical roadmap and standards; maintaining security and compliance; ensuring operational excellence; Controlled $12M budget; Team of 50.

Developed, architected, built and implemented cloud computing-based 10K-sq.-ft. data center, combining all computing resources in single location to reduce real estate, power, cooling, and expenses for hardware, software and support worldwide. Implemented system virtualization that increased server capacity 800% while reducing physical server count by 50%.

Reorganized and combined 12 separate domestic and international IT groups into single centralized, cohesive IT organization within 11 months.

Consolidated 6 disjointed groups into one cohesive IT team.
