Project Manager

·Design, planning, and contracting for the upgrade of site security at two key electricity utility installations ($16mil) in North Carolina. The upgrades include ballistic protection, area lighting tied to CCTV, intruder detection system, IR detection system, card-reader access, and redscan system.

·Cultivating initial contacts with area contractors for development of upcoming bids.

·Directing/coordinate/interfacing the final 25% of ongoing project ($10mil) to meet the compressed schedule’s Mechanical Completion & Commissioning milestones.

Export Pipeline & Tuba Tankfarm Expansion Projects – Basra, Iraq

Area Construction Manager,

·Construction of a 102Km 42"-dia u/g crude oil pipeline with 33kV transmission lines ($225mil, 'green field') & three 66,000M3 oil storage tanks ($110mil, 'brown field').

·Attained mechanical completion and functional testing of the 102km pipeline and one crude oil storage tank in 21 months to support ‘first oil’ production of West Qurna-2 oil field.

·Ensured EPC contractual compliance.

·This involved:

- Installation of u/g pipeline, 6 valve stations, 65km 33kVA transmission line, and 102km fiber optics communications link.

- Review of design, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning schedules and manpower loading.

- Construction compliance to "Issued For Construction" (IFC) drawings for HDD, open-cut, thrust-bore crossings of river, canals, highways, railroad; transmission lines.

- HSE procedure adherence.

- Quality verification of works (soils, concrete, welder quals., welding, NDT, RFIs, etc.).

- Conducted MCC, Pre-Comm, Commissioning, Final Documentation compilation.

- Commissioned before client, training of client in pipeline & tank operation, and final turnover.

- Interfaced with other projects, government agencies, EPCs to resolve field interface issues, contract non-compliances, queries from client.

- Developed contract change orders with cost estimates & SOWs for the 102km crude oil pipeline.

- Edited proposed contracts of future pipelines and storage tanks with recommendations and incorporate 'lessons learned' from current projects.

- Mentored site Team and HQ employees to maintain high quality work and to make operational/maintenance activities less difficult.

SATORP Jubail Export Refinery Project (U$11.0 Bil) – Jubail, Saudi Arabia

·Site Manager of Package 2A ($1.9 Bil) managing civil/mechanical/welding/E&I superintendents and planners constructing the Distillate & Mild Hydrocrackers, Selective Hydrogen Unit, Fluidic Catalytic Cracker, Alkylation Unit, Unsaturated Gas Plant, and Sulphuric Acid Generation Unit.
