-Country Chief Executive Officer- Lafarge Holcim Jordan: July 2015- Dec 2018

-Member of BOD & Chairman of BOD in RMX, leading Lafarge Holcim operations in Jordan with two business lines in Cement (4.4 MT capacity) & RMX (9 locations across the country). Managed to bring about positive change to ensure business sustainability and improving company results. Launched a multi usage development project on old plant land (expected to triple value of land), a Solar Power Project with annual power cost savings of 3 MJD, Pursued a new legal course of action to reduce annual legal compensation cases (7 MJD/y), pushed for re-negotiation of termination of excess employees packages (annual cost 7MJD), re-negotiated major contracts (0.5 MJD annual saving), improved production efficiency, revisited all HR P&P and launched new aspects to complete the system, improved stakeholders management.

-Country Chief Executive Officer – Lafarge Pakistan : Sept 2012 – June 2015

Member of BOD, leading Lafarge operations in Pakistan with a cement company (largest single line operations) and an Industrial Ecology JV. Managed to transform the organization into employer of choice and a leader within the cement Industry with strong focus on H&S, CSR, people development with inclusion & diversity, Innovation through construction solutions and with improved performance across all functions. This resulted in tripling share price & company market cap. Total turnover was over Euro 100MM & EBITDA of Euro 28 MM. Selected among the top 100 CEO’s in Pakistan by Manager today.

-Regional Business Controller – Lafage ME & Pakistan: Sept 2008- Aug 2012

Developed a broad range of hands on knowledge & expertise in all aspects of operations (H&S, Industrial, Commercial, SC, HR & others) by working closely with the Regional President & the Cement Division CFO. Through monitoring the performance of the region BU’s and preparing regular & frequent reports I used to provide relevant analysis of performance along with critique of results and recommendations on corrective actions to meet targets. I actively endorsed the implementation of corporate initiatives within the region while providing support & guidance to the finance & other functional teams. Member of Pakistan BOD.

-Chief Financial Officer – Lafarge/ Pakistan Cement Ltd: April 2006- Aug 2008

Heading the finance function and an active member of the Executive Management Committee as well as member of the Board of Directors. I hired & developed local staff as well as developed local systems, policies & procedures to support the startup & evolution of the business operations. I completed the syndicate finance restructuring after arranging initial local funding for project completion. Achieved unprecedented approvals in Pakistan by launching simultaneously a capital increase and a shareholders loan through SECP relationship management as well as SBP approval on recognition of a written off payable as repatriable equity addition.

-Chief Financial Officer – Heineken Egypt : Aug 2000- March 2006

Held Various leadership roles within the Finance, Audit & Control functions. Transformed the public sector setup into a first class MNC in terms of human capital quality, systems & procedures & proper reporting along with imbedded controls. The company had over 16 legal entities, 6 plants & over 22 distribution centers across the country and was the second largest Tax contributor to the national exchequer with a turnover over 1.5 Bn EGP. Acted as Think Tank for the establishment of Oracle ERP, established the company charts of accounts, introduced Financial analysis, Budgeting & planning and created the first 5 year business plan. Led the finance team in various sub- functional areas including distribution before leading the total team as CFO. Played a key role in restructuring the company operations and its various business & operational cycles.

-Resident Vice President – Citibank Egypt: Aug 1999- Jul 2000

Deputy financial controller for the bank, completed several projects related to standardization of work processess and the development of desk manuals as well as supervised regulatory reporting and self assessment and acted as the Business Unit Compliance Officer.

-Finance Manager – 3M Egypt: Sept 1995 – Jul 1999

Established & led the finance, legal, procurement & administration functions for 3M operations in Egypt (Manufacturing & Trading entities) with all required staffing, systems policies & procedures. Member of the Executive Committee and involved with the MD in all the various business segments (Industrial, Health Care, Office, Home care & others).

-Assistant Manager Credit & Marketing – Arab Bank PLC: March 1990- Aug 1995

Started in operations for 3 years in charged of LCs, LGs & Bills for collection within the documentary credits department and then shifted to Credit & Marketing after ranking 1st on the comprehensive chase credit course. Established the 1st unit of credit administration within the bank before managing a portfolio of clients in various industries.
