SUMMARY PROFILE
I have over sixteen years of microbiology experience having worked in the laboratory, academic, pharmaceutical and clinical settings. I also have two years of public health training focused on clinical research, community and global health and two years of training in healthcare and pharmaceutical marketing. My training has also been focused on the ability to lead and supervise research teams, design and implement research projects in the academic and industrial environments; among other duties. I am knowledgeable about FDA, CLSI and OSHA regulations. I also have over ten years of sales experience in various retail store.
RESEARCH OBJECTIVES:
Seeking opportunities with reputable companies focused on improving the quality of life of people and contributing to knowledge; a place where I can contribute, grow and broaden my scientific, sales and marketing knowledge and experience.
EDUCATION:
EMBA (Executive Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Marketing MBA) - Saint Joseph’s University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (May 2013)
Focus: Healthcare and Pharmaceutical marketing
MPH (Masters of Public Health)-Mercer University School of Medicine, Macon, Georgia (2002-)
(Completed all course work with the exception of the final thesis) ·
Focus: Utilizing health models in the surveillance of diseases and other health outcomes within communities.
M.Sc. Pharmaceutical Microbiology-University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria (1997)
Final thesis focus: Studying the susceptibility patterns of quinolone antimicrobials against bacteria of clinical importance and determining if resistance was plasmid mediated.
B.Sc. Microbiology-University of Calabar, Calabar, Nigeria (1990)
Final research focus: Understanding the causes of fungal infections in guinea worm infected patients of Northern Cross River State of Nigeria.
EXPERIENCE
DEVRY UNIVERSITY/CHAMBERLAIN COLLEGE OF NURSING -
Adjunct Professor (2011-2016)
Visiting Professor 111 (2016-Present)
Teach Microbiology, Chemistry and Anatomy & Physiology
MEDIX SCHOOL SOUTH-LANDOVER, MARYLAND (2008)
Adjunct Faculty (Instructor)
I taught biotechnology courses including recombinant protein techniques, microbiology and biomedical ethics.
EUROFINS MEDINET INC.-HERNDON, VIRGINIA (2007-2008)
Science/Microbiology Analyst
Focus: Analyzed data generated from susceptibility tests conducted on new antimicrobials in comparison with existing antimicrobials to determine possible potentials against microbes of interest using brio technology in accordance with CLSI and FDA standards. Reviewed literature, compiled, summarized and wrote research reports for respective clients.
EMORY UNIVERSITY-ATLANTA, GEORGIA (2005-2007)
Research Specialist/Lab Manager:
Focus: Led, coordinated and trained laboratory staff, scheduled activities for laboratory assistants, purchased and maintained laboratory equipment and supplies. I also managed budgets and conducted microbial research with emphasis on drug susceptibility testing.
SACAL ENVIRONMENTAL COMPANY-MACON, GEORGIA (2003-2004)
Documentation Manager:
Focused on general air monitoring to check for permissible exposure limits (PEL), ceiling and time weighted average (TWA) for toxic airborne materials (criteria pollutants) in industries in conformity with OSHA’s regulations to ensure safe environments for industry workers. Filed and documented reports and assisted in proposal writing
MERCER UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE- MACON, GEORGIA (2002-2004)
