Began as a Bookkeeper, then was offered a full-time position as a paralegal and also continued to perform bookkeeping functions. After a year they hired additional paralegals and offered me the position as a full time Legal Administrator. Developed and implemented all office procedures for paralegals, lawyers and office staff. Daily duties included: all accounting/bookkeeping functions using Quickbooks; invoicing (retainers, fee invoices and invoices against retainers

(Escrow) received); reconciling operating account and retainer account; setting up new clients and projects in billing program (Billquick); communications with clients regarding billing questions and procedures; payroll; employee benefits; onsite computer and network troubleshooter and problem solver; researched and tested new software to help staff perform more efficiently in their daily tasks; wrote database program to track physical client files and allow paralegals and lawyers to keep track of their cases, i.e., current progress, payment status, filing status, etc. Shawe & Rosenthal 1985 to 1992

Legal Administrator

Initially wrote their Legal Time, Billing and Accounting program on their Wang computer system (DOS based programming) and trained their staff how to enter time and create invoices. After about a year they hired me on a part time basis to do all of the billing onsite. After about another year, the Administrator position opened up and I was offered the position, which also included performing all of the billing procedures that I was performing on a part time basis as well as all bookkeeping, office management, payroll, employee benefits, etc. Skills: Proficient in Word Perfect, InqScribe, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher, Access, Outlook, Lotus Approach, Quickbooks, Quicken, Billquick, Adobe Professional, all Windows versions, and more.
