Customer Service, Head of Customer Service/Department Manager – Commercial Property Lines
This agency which was originally Cal Comp Insurance Services was sold to Proven Insurance and ultimately sold to Inszone Insurance Services. I started in customer service as an account manager, and within two years became head of the department, after working in that position for a year, I was awarded the Sales Manager position which I held for two years. I have worked with the following lines of business: General Liability, Commercial Property, Commercial Auto, and Workers Compensation and Inland Marine. I have experience and knowledge of the surplus lines markets and have also worked with professional liability and bonds. I have also assisted the agency in sales as well, with various commercial lines products, I am licensed as P & C Sales Associate.
I worked temporary jobs while going to school and obtaining both of my insurance licenses during the period between Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co., and CalComp Insurance Services, Inc.

Assistant Underwriter
Undertook Dental Professional Liability Program in Sept 2003. Using pre-determined guidelines, I reviewed each account for compliance to the guidelines and standards that qualify each account and referred any account that did not meet our standards to the senior underwriter for further review. Made underwriter decisions when reviewing the accounts, and was responsible for issuing policies and endorsements, as well as cancellations and renewal issuance. Always made time restraints and assisted with our team to take this book of business which was behind in data being processed by nearly 8 months, and within 4 months, had the book current, and had even gone back and corrected the mistakes that had occurred in the prior administration of the book of business.

Sales Associate
I was solely responsible for the implementation and continued sales operation for the DSL division. We originated nearly 500 sales within a 1-year time frame. I was also responsible for providing interactive sales promotions at trade shows and conventions. After DSL sales were discontinued due to market influences (host companies went bankrupt), I was switched to selling MVR’s and replaced the 6 current salespeople with myself and one other individual. During the next 8 months, we brought in nearly 400 new customers, and were so successful the company was purchased by First American, a national conglomerate.

Provided Policy Issuance and Maintenance: helped in marketing and rating of applications, conversion of paper-based application to computer version (went paperless under my direction), did policy review for accuracy, reporting all deviations from the original application to the appropriate producer. I helped maintain and expand their computer network and systems for nearly 10 years. Worked with contractors predominantly in this medium sized insurance agency, from everything from there policy maintenance, to requesting endorsements, maintaining bonds, and assisting the customer in filling out the applications for liability, property, inland marine, and bonds and commercial auto. Worked with this agency owner for 9 years, before I went into sales full time.
